FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL HERRING
November 21, 2024
Dear Ardmore Family,
We are currently about three weeks into our second quarter. Starting tomorrow, students will begin to receive paper copies of their report cards. Parents, please take the time to familiarize yourselves with the new system, "ParentVue," which allows you to view your child's reports. It is crucial to regularly check in and monitor your child's performance across all content areas by accessing their progress weekly. Thank you for your attendance and support during our first quarter honor roll assemblies.
This month, we are celebrating National Native American Heritage Month!
Mark your calendars for our Trunksgiving Parade on Friday, November 22, 2024. Due to inclement weather, we will be in the Cafeteria. Please check in at the office upon your arrival.
Additionally, please review the updated calendar for information about PTO meetings, school closures, and spirit days. Your partnership is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Principal Herring

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER, TRUNKSGIVING WILL BE IN THE CAFETERIA @ 11:45 AM

Immunizations
All children by law must have the required State of Maryland immunizations in order to attend school. Parents are responsible for providing proof of immunizations to the school.
If your child receives an Immunization Exclusion Letter this school year, please contact your child’s healthcare provider to make sure your child is up to date with immunizations. Please provide the updated immunization record to the School Nurse. If not provided, your child will not be able to attend school effective the date stated on the Immunization Exclusion Letter. If your child doctor’s appointment date falls after the exclusion date on the Immunization Exclusion Letter, your child will still be excluded from school. If you have any questions please contact me at rayvenia.farrow@pgcps.org or (240) 696-8788.
Health Concerns
Parents/Guardians please complete the blue form that was given to your child indicating any medical conditions and allergies. Please return the form to the child's teacher as soon as possible.
Medications
No medication will be administered to your child without a completed Prescriber’s Medication Order Form (PMOF) and properly labeled medication container. Below is the link for Medication Forms.
If your child had medication(s) at the school last year, a new Prescriber’s Medication Form (PMOF) must be completed for this school year. A new properly labeled medication container must also be provided to the nurse.

Reminder: Synergy Student Information System
Synergy is the new student information system that will replace SchoolMax. Similar to SchoolMax, Synergy will allow you to:
· View your child's academic records and report cards
· Access your child's attendance information
· Monitor your child's progress and performance
To access Synergy, you will need to sign up for a parent account. Once signed up, you will be able to view your child's report cards and other important information online.
Please note that the school district will no longer be providing printed copies of report cards. All report card information will be available through the Synergy parent portal. If you have any questions or need assistance signing up, please contact your child's school.
