Dear Parents,

Can your student sing? Can they dance? Can they say 50 digits of Pi? Announcing Pleasant View Elementary’s first talent show! Anyone can try out for the show! Your students can get a group of friends together or go solo, practice their talent and come show us what they’ve got. Auditions are Tuesday April 26th and Thursday April 28th after school. Our judges will choose creative acts that are well-prepared to participate in the show. As a parent you can help your student sign up for auditions online at this link: https://forms.office.com/r/3LjN1sbLr9.

Due to space in the gym, our show on June 3rd will be for students only. We will record the performances and send them out to parents after the show is done. If you have questions please reach out to the music teacher, Mrs. McGrorty, via email at mcgrorty.peggy@westada.org.

We are needing some lunch time support next week. If you are able to help with noon duty next week, 11:30-1:00, please reach out to the school. If you can only support a smaller portion of that time, we will take the help. Paul Herrera will be putting together a list of volunteers.

Congratulations to this group of students and teacher who had their Pronghorn Pride Ticket drawn this week. These students were caught either modeling a school-wide expectation or showing ownership for their learning. Way to be #PronghornStrong!

We have noted MANY families taking additional vacations this year. We would like to ask that you please be aware of the impact on instruction, especially as we move into the state testing window for April and May. It is critical that your child is here in order to limit the instruction time missed should a student not be in attendance on the testing day for their grade level.*

*Students who miss the assessment will be pulled from class to make up those assessments, which results in more instructional time missed.

Your child has received the Hawks Reading Challenge booklet. When your child has completed the reading of 4 books, you may sign the reading assignment for your child where it lists "Teacher Signature." Your child will then submit the reading assignment page to Mrs. Senethavilay in the front office.

Please be sure to complete all sections of the Reading Assignment page to include the personal information in the lower right corner of the page.

*When it comes to the available dates, families can choose which of those days they would like to come to. Because the tickets are general admission, they can exchange their vouchers for tickets at the box office the day of the game.

Yearbooks are on sale now until Wednesday, April 27th. Order yours today! There will be a very limited number of extra yearbooks ordered, so pre order your yearbook today. Order deadline is April 27th. Yearbooks will be passed out in class during the last week of school.

Join us for Food Trucks, Snow Cones, Cotton Candy, Carnival Games, Prizes, Bounce Houses, Face Painting, and lots of fun! Each wristband includes carnival games, prizes, bounce houses, and face painting. All children who would like to participate in games and activities will be required to have a wristband. You will be able to pick up your wristbands at the carnival. Wristbands will be on sale for $8 until May 11th.

PTA is in need of 130 EMPTY 2 Liter bottles for a carnival game. A collection site will be set up in the main foyer for you or your child to drop off. Thank you for helping us prepare for the First Annual School Carnival!

Please be sure to call into the office or email Jenene Hill at hill.jenene@westada.org if your child is out absent.

If your child has an appointment, please be sure to get a verification form from the provider to allow the school to change the coding for attendance. If your child has a standing appointment weekly/monthly, you can get the letter from the provider for the length of time to share with the office to allow for proper coding.

*Per district policy, an unverified absence will convert to truancy unless verbal communication is received from a parent/guardian within 48 hours (counts against attendance standard).
