Raider Reporter Reports!
5th & 6th Grade Ski Trip
On February 10th, 2025, the 5th and 6th graders embarked bright and early on a ski trip! Around 60% of the fifth and sixth graders chose to go on the trip, while 40% stayed behind. Teachers hope that the percentage of students participating will increase in the coming years because the ski trip is an amazing opportunity for students — one they should take advantage of. After all, skiing is a lifelong sport that people aged 90+ still participate in!
This year, both the 5th and 6th graders went together due to previous ski trips being canceled. They will join forces again for the next trip as well. The group took two buses up to the mountain, arriving around 9:30. Once there, they listened to a ski patrol official talk about safety on and off the mountain. Then they broke into skiing groups — some started on the magic carpet, while others went straight to the lift — and leapt, skis first, into a day of fun!
Some groups went up the Bonnie and other more advanced lifts to challenge themselves, but most students stayed on the easier lifts to continue learning how to turn and stop. All students worked hard to perfect their technique and skiing skills, preparing to tackle harder trails next time. The key takeaway from the ski trip? Skiing is fun… and tiring!

Trout Update!
The trout are growing bigger every day and can often be seen near the rocks at the bottom of the tank. If you notice some are larger than others, that's because they've eaten more — the more they eat, the more they grow!
