Huntley Happenings ~ September 12th
Family Newsletter
Hello Huntley families,
We are in full swing over here and wrapping up our first full week of school. Students are in the launch phase of our new Wit and Wisdom curriculum and are doing an amazing job. In addition, our teachers are starting some beginning of the year assessments. This information is used to help guide our teachers with instructional practices that will help your child grow throughout the year.
Families, this just a friendly reminder, when you are dropping your child off at school or picking up, please be mindful of the parking restrictions posted around school and our neighbors' driveways. We've had a few complaints of blocked driveways in the morning and if you have noticed, the city does come around and will ticket vehicles parked in these restricted areas. In addition, please make sure you and/or your children are waiting for the crossing guard to help them cross the street. It can be a busy intersection by Huntley and want to make sure everyone stays safe. Thank you for your cooperation.
Often times we get questions about electronics at school. Per the school policy, personal electronics at school (this includes cell phones, smart watches, gizmo's, tablets, etc.), need to be turned off. Once students arrive at school, all electronics are to be in your child's backpack and turned off throughout the school day. If a child has a watch on, they cannot be using it during the school day. If it becomes a distraction to student learning, we will ask them to put it in the backpack and reach out to you if needed. Please reinforce these guidelines at home with your child. Thank you for your support.
Lastly, a reminder to our 5th grade families, the Camp Meeting will be in the Auditorium from 6:00-7:00pm on Monday, September 16th.
Enjoy your weekend.
