The safety of our students and staff is the most important thing at Martinez. We are committed to create a supportive educational environment for every student. Please remember to always bring an ID when picking up students through the front office.

Additionally: When picking up students in the car rider line, please do not leave your vehicle.

On April we will be celebrating autism awareness month. This is a great opportunity to bring attention to this topic and learn more about it.

For staff and students to participate we will have the following activities:

• Wednesday, April 2. National Autism Awareness Day- Light Up Blue-Dress up in blue
• Wednesday, April 9. Neurodiversity Day- Dress up in Tie-dye
• Wednesday, April 16. We ROCK the spectrum- Dress up like a rockstar/band shirts
• Wednesday, April 23. Team up for Autism - Dress up in sports team shirt
• Wednesday, April 30. Sensory Friendly Day- Dress up in PJs

We are getting ready to have our Spring pictures. On Friday, April 11, we will have Strawbridge come to the campus and take pictures of all our students. By purchasing the picture you will be getting an additional memento of your child's pass through Martinez to share with the family and support the school at the same time. The code for this event will be FM443516 for parents who want to purchase the pictures directly on www.strawbridge.net.

On April 23, you will be able to order a pizza from Marcos pizza in a box decorated by your child. This is a great opportunity to treat the family to a pizza dinner, recognize your child's effort in decorating the box, and support the school through this fundraising activity. We will send more information closer to the date.

We love to see our mariposas celebrate their fifth birthday. We appreciate when you want to make the moment special sending cupcakes to the school for students to share with their classmates. Students enjoy sharing the sweet treat with their classmates. For the students' safety, please make sure the cupcakes are store bought and they come in the original packaging.

Due to policies and regulations, we cannot accept pizzas, juice boxes, candy, or balloons.

All the people who works every day in Martinez ELC does it with love and care for each one of our students. We want to give you the opportunity to celebrate the great things you see happening at the school and recognize their efforts. Staff Shout Outs

You can celebrate your child's birthday on the school's marquee. For $20 you can have your child's birthday announced for a week for everybody to see. You can pay directly in School Cash Online using this link https://aliefisd.schoolcashonline.com/Fee/Details/206405/46610/False/False

You can buy now the Martinez shirts for your child. You can come to the school's front office and pay cash or you can use the School Cash App clicking on the link CLICK HERE. The shirt has a cost of $20 dollars and is one of the ways we raise funds for our student fund. We appreciate your support buying the shirt.

Things to remember about attendance procedures at our school:

1) School starts at 8:15 a.m.—students who are not in class at this time are considered tardy. Students who are 30 or more minutes tardy, will be considered as a “POD30”, which is a part-of-day attendance violation.

2) The official attendance time to determine if a student is absent or present for the day is 10:00 a.m., students must be on campus at this time.

3) Dismissal is at 3:40 p.m.—students may not be released after 2:30 p.m. because dismissal procedures will have already started.

4) Students who are picked up before dismissal time will be considered as an “early leave”, which is a part-of-day attendance violation.

5) Excuse notes for absences must be returned no later than 3 days after returning to school.

6) Only 10 parent excuse notes will be allowed per year, without extenuating circumstances.

7) Only 10 doctor/clinic/nurse excuse notes will be allowed per year, without a medical need documented by your doctor and verified by the school nurse.

We are using ParentSquare to communicate with our families. All messages from the district and the school will be sent through this platform.
