MISSION STATEMENT
Martinez Early Learning Center is committed to creating a safe, nurturing, and innovative learning environment for our students, that encompasses kindness and fosters foundational skills for all students to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
We are Safe,
We are Kind,
We are Mariposas Ready to Learn.
Safety First
The safety of our students and staff is the most important thing at Martinez. We strive to make the campus a place where students can focus on their learning. As part of our safety practices, we perform periodic drills. See the chart below to learn about the different drills we do in the campus. If you happen to arrive to the school in the middle o a drill, we ask for your patience.
Class with the Counselor
We know you love your child and want to always do what is best for them. We want to share some amazing ways to support the oral language and verbal reasoning development of your little one. These strategies will help them to continue growing and blossoming. The counselor will offer a free class on Wednesday January 22 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM in the family center. This training is based on the new book from Dr. Tricia Zucker, Strive-for-Five Conversations. We hope you are able to come and enjoy a morning of learning new strategies to keep supporting your child.
100th Day of School
It is hard to believe the school year is in its second half. To celebrate the milestone of reaching 100 days of school, we are going to have a day to either dress up as a 100 year old person or wear 100 items on their shirt. This is a great opportunity to work together as a family preparing the outfit for this day. We look forward to see all your creativity in action. Please make sure the attire remains appropriate for school and playground.
101 Days of School
Black and white are the colors of the 101 days of school. The theme of the day will be to dress up as a Dalmatian. You can dress your child in black and white, add dots, ears, and painted nose to be part of this day's theme. Please make sure the attire remains appropriate for school and playground.
Kindness Week
During the week of February 10 to 14 we will celebrate kindness at Martinez. We will have different ways to dress up and opportunities to perform acts of kindness each day.
- Monday 10th, Team Kindness. Wear your favorite sports team shirt of jersey.
- Tuesday 11th, Peace, love, and kindness. Wear tie-dye.
- Wednesday 12th, Kindness rocks. Dress like a rock star
- Thursday 13th, Powered by kindness. Dress as your favorite super hero. (No masks or weapons)
- Friday 14th, We love Being Kind. Wear Valentine's day colors red or pink.
Remember all attires for this week must be classroom and playground appropriate.
