Congratulations to the Engineering III/IV Team Bluebird!
Team Bluebird submitted their “bluebirds only” nesting box to the InventVA online state contest. Their project was a bluebird nesting box that used color and distance sensors to recognize the type of bird in the snake-proof Noelle cage. If it sensed blue, the door would open for the bird. If it did not sense blue, it would stay closed-keeping invasive sparrows and wrens out of the nesting box.
The team won recognition for “Innovations in Wildlife Habitats” in the category of Environment and Sustainability. They also won second place in the KidWind Eastern Regional Solar Challenge. Team members include: Vincent JaimeSawyer, Evelyn Newman, Aiden Montgomery, Jaydon Ruffin and Will Flythe.

Congratulations to all donors for making SHS the number one school in the state and saving over 750 lives in the process.
