Feature Story
Spotlight on Team Illusion Robotics: Building the Future at CMIT North High School
Team Illusion Robotics, CMIT North High School's dedicated robotics team, is at the forefront of innovation, collaboration, and excellence. This year, the team has embarked on an exciting journey of mastering advanced engineering techniques, programming skills, and teamwork strategies to prepare for prestigious competitions such as the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) and VEX Robotics challenges.
A Year of Growth and Challenge
The 2024-2025 academic year has been a groundbreaking period for Team Illusion Robotics. With support from sponsors like MASER and partnerships with organizations like Quorum, the team is enhancing its technical knowledge and honing its problem-solving abilities. These collaborations have provided invaluable resources, from mentorship to advanced materials, setting the stage for the team's success.
One of the major highlights is their participation in the VEX Robotics “High Stakes” game. Students are actively designing, building, and programming robots to excel in this intricate competition. In parallel, they are gearing up for the official robot build phase for the FRC, which begins in January 2025. The team’s focus this year is not only on technical achievements but also on fostering a culture of innovation and resilience.
STEM Ambassadors in Action
To qualify as STEM Ambassadors, team members are required to participate in at least five STEM competitions. This ambitious requirement ensures that students gain hands-on experience and develop critical skills in various fields, from mechanical design to coding. Beyond the competitions, the team members are active advocates for STEM education, inspiring their peers and the wider community to explore science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
Building Community and Leadership
Team Illusion Robotics embodies the values of CMIT North High School—innovation, teamwork, and leadership. The team’s efforts extend beyond the competition arena, as they collaborate on projects that benefit the school community. From organizing workshops for younger students to participating in outreach programs, Team Illusion is making a lasting impact.
Looking Ahead
As the season progresses, Team Illusion Robotics is poised for remarkable achievements. Their commitment to excellence, combined with the unwavering support of their mentors, sponsors, and school community, ensures a bright future not just for the team but for the legacy of robotics at CMIT North High School.
We encourage everyone to follow and support Team Illusion Robotics on their journey. Stay tuned for updates and cheer them on as they represent our school on prestigious platforms! Together, we build the future.
Please send your contribution through check for CMIT Afterschool Program, or Cash. We are currently looking on how to get a myschoolbucks account and will inform you as soon as we get it.
Thank you very much for all your support.

It's time to give back to the community
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with SuperSuds Laundromat to host a Toy Donation Drive in collaboration with our Afterschool Clubs & PTSO. This is a fantastic opportunity for our community to give back in a meaningful way.
How to Participate:
Students can drop off new or gently used toys at donation collection points located in the front office and cafeteria.
Donations can also be submitted directly to Dr. Clarke or Ms. Tarver.
Service Hours: As a token of our appreciation, each toy donated will earn the student 1 service hour.
This toy drive is more than just an opportunity to earn service hours. It also helps us build stronger ties with local businesses and teaches the valuable lesson of giving back. Your contribution will not only help those in need but also support the broader CMIT community.
We encourage all students to participate and make a difference this holiday season!
