New Year Message from your President
Happy New Year, Cheatham Family!
I ask that we gratefully pause to thank God for being blessed to see a new year. As 2019 ends and 2020 starts, let me wish you an abundance of joy and happiness in this new year. May you have a beautiful New Year and make this one special for all you hold dear. As the new year starts, let’s acknowledge all the love we have for each other as a family. Let’s continue to thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon the Cheatham Family.
I pray that all our days be filled with blessings and memories that last for years to come! Remember to reflect on the legacy that was left behind from our ancestors and the ones we will leave for others to follow. Take some time to review the Cheatham Family website at www.thecheathamfamily.tribalpages.com and give thanks for our awesome family.
Here are a few updates on our Cheatham Family Organization top initiatives:
1. Cheatham Family Round-Up
This initiative is an action item. As you know, it is important to have current contact information for all family members. At this time, your local Cheatham Chapter President is working on updating their chapter database within the upcoming weeks. To confirm your contact information, please reach out to your chapter president. For your convenience, you can find your local chapter president's contact information at the bottom of the newsletter.
2. Preserve Family Land and Cemetery
During our last conference call, we discussed our accomplishment of getting an address for the Cheatham Cemetery. As we continue to seek the cemetery as a historic landmark, the address is an important step toward our goal of preserving the final resting place for many of our ancestors.
3. Cheatham Family Reunion Organization Exploratory Committee
During our August 2019 family reunion, it was expressed by many family members to explore additional locations and activity options for upcoming family reunions. While we love our current reunion format, other locations and activities could be a great enhancement to our reunions. Therefore, we created the Cheatham Family Reunion Exploratory Committee, chaired by D'Ante Tillis, who would love to hear suggestions from all family members. Please click the link below to share your voice with this committee. We thank you in advance for your assistance.
Again, I thank God for each of you!
Your Humble President,
Karen Barnes
