A Note from Joe...
BMS Family,
A team of BMS staff took the Polar Plunge this weekend at Crystal Lake in Burnsville to support Special Olympics! Their goal was to raise $2,950, but they surpassed it with an incredible $3,217! A huge thank you to all the staff and community members who contributed and supported this event.
I’d also like to recognize and thank Terry, Heather, and Tascha for their work in organizing and administering the ACCESS test. Please continue to support our learners participating in this assessment, and remember to check your mailbox each morning for passes and important information.
As we transition to spring, the change in season often brings shifts for both staff and students.
Now more than ever, I encourage each of you to stay committed to building authentic connections with our students. Be present—not just during structured lessons but also in those unplanned moments between classes and during breaks.
Take the time to listen, offer words of encouragement, and extend a supportive hand. It’s through these small gestures that we create an environment where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
Dan and I want to personally thank you for being you. For relentlessly praising the positive. For being warm demanders—holding students accountable while resetting each day to show them you care and that you showed up for them.
This Wednesday is time set aside for departments to meet individually. If you need support from anyone from our learner support team, please do not hesitate to reach out!
Lets make it a great week at BMS!

Nuts and Bolts
Link to the Boeckman Buzz - Here is a link to the Boeckman Buzz for this week
Furniture - Any personal furniture that is needing to be disposed of will need to be done so by the individual. If you have questions around this, please see Tim.
Mock OHSA Inspection - The district committee will be doing a safety inspection on Tuesday afternoon. The group will be walking around the building after school on Tuesday. Todd Kohorst and Dan Thompson will serve as reps from BMS.
ACCESS Test for students receiving ML Services - Our Multilingual Learners will be taking the ACCESS 2.0 test February 18th – March 5. There will be very limited ML services during this time. The ML teachers will place testing passes in the boxes of the TC teacher each morning. Please check your box daily to pick up these passes and hand them out to your students. The students will show the pass to their classroom teacher at the beginning of the block. Then they will go to the large lab for testing.
This is a state test. All ML students are required to take the ACCESS 2.0 every year to show their progress in developing English. The test consists of 4 domains reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Each student will miss 4 blocks of classes total throughout the 2 and a half weeks. Please excuse students from classwork that is assigned while they are out testing.
Please check the ACCESS schedule to view when your students are testing and will be out of your classroom. We understand that the 6th graders are on a field trip during this testing window. We have scheduled around the field trip. Thank you for your support and consideration!

She also does an incredible job building relationships with students, making BMS a great place to learn and grow. Thank you for all you do, Alesia!
