As you know, our administrative team has shifted this summer at Pizitz. We are thrilled to welcome Mr. Russell Leonard to our team. As a resident of Vestavia Hills, Mr. Leonard is looking forward to serving as an administrator in his local community. Mr. Leonard's previous experiences include teaching English and coaching basketball. Most recently, he has served as an assistant principal at Calera High School. Next year, each one of our assistant principals will primarily serve one grade-level. Ms. Morgan will work alongside our students, teachers and families in sixth grade. Mrs. Perry will work alongside our students, teachers, and families in seventh grade. Mr. Leonard will work alongside our students, teachers, and families in eighth grade.
We have also had a shift in our counseling department. Two of our counselors have moved from Pizitz to pursue different opportunities. We look forward to welcoming our new counselors who are no strangers to Pizitz. Miss Allison Little will be joining our team in July. She attended Pizitz as a student. Mrs. Nicole Howell will also join our team in July. She completed her internship and a long term subbing position here at Pizitz. Both of these ladies have previous experience in middle schools as counselors. All of our counselors plan to rotate with their students through their years at Pizitz.
