This week Ferson staff and students participated in another Town Hall. With a continued focus on kindness, the entire school shared the story, The Power of One which helped us reflect on our ability to make a difference even though we are just one person. Then, each Town Hall Family completed an activity that aligned with their family's kindness theme. We are so excited to continue our work together after winter break, when we focus on designing and creating our kindness posts that will be a visual reminder of all the ways we can spread kindness in our community. With that, we are looking for parent volunteers who would be willing to partner with a Town Hall family to support the design and painting of the posts. If you are interested in volunteering to help with this project, please fill out this form and Dr. DuCharm will reach out with additional details. Our kindness posts are our culminating project that will take the second semester to fully complete. Thank you in advance for your willingness to help!

Student Leadership Club has about 100 Smencils left to sell on Monday. If your child would still like to purchase, Smencils will be available again on Monday in the front foyer. Thank you!

Winter celebrations will take place next Friday, December 20th from 2:25-3:10 pm. Party volunteers are able to go to classrooms at 2:10 in order to set up for the celebrations. As a reminder, party volunteers were determined at the beginning of the year. Only confirmed volunteers, who signed up through the Sign Up Genius that PTO shared, are permitted to attend the party. If you need clarification on whether or not you are a party volunteer, please reach out to Clare Merritt at coskyc@yahoo.com. If you are volunteering and haven't filled out a volunteer form, please complete it and send it to Cheryl Wiley at cheryl.wiley@d303.org.

There are no before school music groups practicing next week. This includes band, choir and orchestra. These groups will pick back up after winter break. However, lessons that are scheduled during the day are still taking place.

For decades, GPS has been offering free programs that aim to empower and strengthen families, individuals and communities. As a partner organization, District 303 will support promoting upcoming programs and their importance to our local community.

• Please leave your name, your child's name, phone number, reason for absence and your child's symptoms if ill.
• If you have advance notice of an absence please fill out our prearranged absence form, inform your child's teacher and submit the completed form to the front office. You are allowed up to 5 prearranged absences per school year.

Our parent volunteers are an integral part of our school community. Therefore, we'd love to invite you to spend time with Ferson Creek students during lunch and lunch recess.

Please keep in mind that it is important to keep our students, staff members, and volunteers safe while they are in our schools. Given that, all volunteers must:

• Have your ID ready and sign in at the office to receive your visitor badge.
• EACH YEAR complete a Volunteer Liability Form. If the school does not have one on file for you and you do not provide one, the office will provide one for you when you come for your first day as a volunteer.
