Band Buzz: August 18, 2024

We made it through the first few days of school! Make sure to come out to Krueger Field on Friday for Demo Night! Also, be on the lookout for an email about volunteering for the first football game.

CLHS Band and Color Guard Families,

Our first performance is this Friday! Students will need to be in their heat uniform, which includes the blue cap, gray game shirt, blue shorts, black marching band shoes and low-cut black socks. We will perform for parents at 5:30 p.m. in the turf stadium at CLHS. We are looking forward to showing you what we’ve been working on the last 4 weeks!

THIS FRIDAY - Demonstration and Potatoes!!

5:30 pm is Demonstration at practice field behind Krueger Field House

~ 6 pm is BBQ potatoes in the Commons. Pulled pork potatoes will be substituted with a brisket potato.

I will continue ironing bibbers this week Monday through Thursday from 3:00-5:00. If anyone is available to help on those days, just shoot me a text or email. Ironing the bibbers is not difficult - the pant material is easy to work with and the new hem crease will be easy to set with a quick press. All you need to bring is an iron and a spray water bottle; an ironing board is not necessary - we can just lay out a folded up beach towel on a table and I can bring the beach towels. As always, any help will be greatly appreciated!

The directors will make an announcement in class when the bibbers are ready to go home. The students will keep their uniforms at home for the duration of marching season. More detailed at-home care and washing instructions will be provided later.

Clear Bag Policy Enforced

All CCISD Stadiums strictly enforce a Clear Bag Policy. This means no large bags or backpacks will be allowed to be brought through the gates into the stadium. Please leave all purses or bags securely locked in your vehicle or you will be turned away at the gate. No exceptions will be made.

Be on the lookout for info and volunteer opportunities for the US Bands Contest. Clear Lake High School is hosting and will need a lot of help throughout the day to make sure things run smoothly.

If you have never taken lessons before, there is no better time to start than now! The best teacher to student ratio is one on one, and our private lesson teachers are some of the best in the business. There is no better way to receive individualized instruction on your instrument!
