Dear PLES!

Our holiday sing along yesterday was a hit! It was heartwarming to see the holiday spirit alive at Penn London! We wish you and your family a happy holiday season!

As communicated yesterday, the school district will engage in Flexible Instruction Days (FIDs) for upcoming inclement weather. Today students will be coming home with Chromebooks in case of a flexible instruction day following the winter break. Communication will come from the school district IF there is a flexible instruction day. See yesterday’s communication for more specific information on flexible instruction days.

Guidelines for Chromebook care:

• Keep the Chromebook turned off and in your student’s backpack unless there is a flexible instruction day (FID). Keep the backpack and Chromebook in a safe and dry location.

• Charge the Chromebook with a USB-C charger if you have one at home and need to use the Chromebook for a flexible instruction day.

• Return the Chromebook to school on the next school day.

• Use the Web Help Desk on our Student page to submit a ticket for any issues with the Chromebook - www.avongrove.org/students. Use your student’s Google account to sign in.

• Chromebooks are being sent home for flexible instruction day use only. Please do not have your students use them for other purposes.

Penn London is hiring! We are looking for an instructional aide to work 5.5 hours/day. The focus of the position would be working with students to develop their reading skills and training is provided. All interested applicants should apply via the district website.

Miss Greco's Kindergarten class needs your help! This week, we were working on comparing stories by reading four different versions of the Gingerbread Man: The Gingerbread Man, The Gingerbread Girl, The Ninjabread Man, and The Gingerbread Man Loose in the School. During our half day on Friday, we decided to make our own gingerbread man, and he ended up running away just like in the stories! We posted signs around the school but could not find him. If you see a cookie running around, please let us know. Thanks so much!
