Medication at School:

For the safety of students, medications should not be taken at school unless it is absolutely necessary. Any medication to be taken at school needs to be brought in by a parent with the proper medication forms.

The medication needs to be in the original container, which indicates dosage amount and frequency of medication. These items will be kept in the health room. Students are not allowed to transport medications. Parents need to bring in medications to school and take them home when a student is finished. Medications will not be given to any student without the proper paperwork on file or if the medication is not in the original container. There will be a 5th grade PARENT meeting on August 22nd at 6:30 PM at Lineville. The meeting will be led by our building administration and school counselors. We will walk you through the 5th grade experience and answer any questions you may have.

Please join us at Open House on August 28th from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. Students will be able to set up their lockers, meet their teachers and see their classrooms. We hope you can make it!

Lineville will be having a staggered start for all incoming 5th grade students. In an effort to ease the transition, half of the 5th grade students will join us on the first day of school and the other half will join us on the second day of school (see below). This schedule will allow us to better support small groups of students as they learn to navigate the building, introduce them to their schedules and teachers, and learn the overall expectations of what it is to be a Lineville Pirate.

• Tuesday, September 3rd - 5th graders with last names A-L and ALL 6th graders will attend.
• Wednesday, September 4th - 5th graders with last names M-Z and ALL 6th graders will attend.
• Thursday, September 5th - ALL 5th graders and ALL 6th graders will attend.

Lineville School Supplies

Welcome:

Welcome to the Lineville Cross Country team! Cross country is the only school-based sport where we compete against other districts. We encourage participants of all abilities! While there is no cost to participate, we do require that you sign-up using this link to ensure we know who is participating in practices/meets.

Practice/Meets:

We practice right after school, Monday-Thursday, until 4:15pm, unless we have a cross country meet. Our season is a little over a month long and the first practice will be on Thursday, September 5th. At the meets, we run anywhere between 1.25-1.75 miles. (Schedule to come out soon, about 1-2 per week). Meets usually start between 4-4:30pm. Parents need to transport their child to meets and we would love to have your child at as many meets as they can make! If your student is participating in another fall sport and they want to do cross country, we are flexible and can make accommodations, so your child can do both!

For the meets, every child is encouraged to order/wear the Pirates Cross Country shirt with their last name on the back (see below). These are the same shirts we used last season and all returning 6th graders can continue wearing theirs! ALL ITEMS NEED TO BE ORDERED BY AUGUST 23RD from the link above. There are other apparel items that are optional to order as well. All items will be handed out at Lineville to save on shipping costs, unless you want the items shipped directly to your home.

The Giving Tree is excited for a new school year! August 14 was our Back-to-School Event and food pantry! Students received school supplies, backpacks, socks and underwear and much more. Students were also given oral health care bags, had the opportunity to sign up for in-district dental care, and signed up for free or reduced meal benefits through our School Nutrition department.
