Mr. Wilson's February Message
We’ve had a great month of teaching and learning at Mason in January! Although the weather impacted our STEAM Fair, we’re excited to show off our 13 winners during the Small n’ Tall Ball on February 6th. We will have those 13 winners share their projects in the media center from 5:30 to 6:30 pm. The remaining STEAM fair entrances will be featured on our Virtual STEAM Fair website.
February is an exciting month at Mason with lots of events happening! We will kick off the month with our Small n’ Tall Ball, we have our mid-winter break February 13-17th, a hard lock down drill on February 24th, and wrap up with our Wax Museum on February 27th.
iReady is a resource that students can utilize at any time to help grow and learn in both math and reading. Every student has a personal pathway that they can engage in at school or at home. We will be implementing some goal setting opportunities to help students move towards their stretch goal by the end of the year. Teachers reviewed iReady scores during conferences and can share family reports at any time. Just email your child’s teacher for an update!
Thank you all for helping your child to get to school on time! We want to continue to see the number of tardies (checking in after 8:15 am) decrease. When a student checks-in after 8:15 am they are missing morning meeting and instruction. So, thank you for ensuring they are here and on-time each day!
Important Dates and Times:
- National School Counselor Week - February 3rd - 7th
- Small n’ Tall Ball - February 6th
- In-Person Learning Day (Previously Scheduled as a DLD) - February 7th
- Mid-Winter Break - February 13th - 17th
- Spring Hard Lock Down Drill - February 24th
- Multicultural Wax Museum - February 27th
Respectfully,
Ryan Wilson
Give your child a special birthday shout out!
Celebrate your child's birthday in a big way with our Digital Marquee Birthday Shout Out fundraiser! The digital marquee is the electronic sign in front of the school that displays messages.
Surprise your little one with their name in lights as their special day is displayed for all to see. Parents can purchase a personalized birthday message to be showcased on our school marquee on their child's birthday. Don't miss this chance to make your child feel like a star! Purchase your shout-out today and support our school at the same time. The cost is $15 per message and your message will be displayed on your child's birthday (as indicated in your order), even if it is a weekend. Our digital messages run 8 seconds before changing, but your message will be visible from 6 am to 10 pm on the chosen day as part of our message rotation.
To order your birthday message, click this link: https://sfnd.io/masonbday
(Please note that designs cannot be customized. For privacy reasons, only the child's first name is displayed on the marquee.)
