Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of June 1, 2025
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL
Dear EHTHS Families,
Summer is knocking at our door and our students are eagerly anticipating a well-deserved break. Until then, we have much to celebrate and share with you!
This week, our students have participated in a variety of events and celebrations that highlight their hard work, creativity, and school spirit. Whether through our MSA, ALAB, COMM, AP Math, Multicultural Club, or AFJROTC celebrations, food, fun, and friends were in full supply. These events have been a great reminder of how much our students accomplish together.
We’re thrilled to announce that Jaden Tran, a junior, has been selected for the prestigious High School Advanced Cybersecurity Internship Program with the New Jersey Cybersecurity & Communications Integration Cell. Jaden is the first student from EHTHS to be chosen for this competitive and hands-on opportunity. Congratulations!
Aleah Hamid, sophomore, represented EHTHS at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Seminar, joining 250 students from across New Jersey in a weekend of leadership development, community service, and motivational training. Way to go, Aleah!
We would like to recognize our German students who were recently inducted into the German National Honor Society. We are proud of your academic dedication!
Mr. Cascio’s Honors Latin American Studies class took a memorable trip to El Museo del Barrio in Harlem, New York. Students explored powerful Afro-Brazilian spiritual sculptures, abstract Puerto Rican paintings, and Taíno artifacts. The day concluded with a stroll through Central Park, a walk through East Harlem, and a delicious stop at a local Mexican restaurant.
At our Senior Awards Ceremony, we proudly honored 145 seniors who collectively earned over $17 million in scholarships! We also recognized 98 students who achieved the Seal of Biliteracy, including several who earned two or even three seals. Thank you to Ms. Musacchio for organizing such a wonderful evening. Since Wednesday, a few additional scholarship recognitions include: Isabella deCosta – 2025 Atlantic County Women’s Hall of Fame Scholarship ($500), Lyla Brown, Desiree Moore, and Rachel Yushan – Energizing Young Voters: Schmiedel Family Foundation Scholarships ($1,000 each) and Cassandra Mendez – Ocean Casino Resort’s International Women’s Day Scholarship ($1,000).
Today, we celebrated 894 students at our Academic Achievement Breakfast, recognizing those who maintained an unweighted average of 90% or higher through the first three marking periods. Your continued commitment to excellence makes us EHT Proud!
The EHT Hiking Club wrapped up the year with its annual "S’mores & More" hike at Belleplain State Park—conquering trails, water, and the grill!
Spring sports are wrapping up. EHT Softball had a big win against Vineland, marking Coach Troster’s 100th career win. Congratulations! Our 4x400 girls relay team finished their season strong at the NJ Meet of Champions, clocking an incredible PR of 4:00.69. What a season of determination, teamwork, and heart! Senior Matthew Kaelble has been selected for the North/South All-State All-Star Football Game, an incredible honor with only 25 players chosen for the South team. Best of luck at Sunday’s game at Kean University! Congrats also to Junior OL Conner Brown, named Iron Eagle of the Week for his strength, consistency, and dedication to the program.
Let’s hear it for our freshman class, the winners of this year’s Battle of the Classes! Their reward is a Class Carnival next Friday! Keep that school spirit alive!
With just 12 school days until graduation, we encourage all families to CLICK HERE for important graduation details. Don’t forget about Project Graduation, an exciting, parent-led celebration that wraps up this milestone evening in style.
Yearbooks are flying off the shelves! Visit Mr. Heenan in room C-248 to purchase one. Discounted 2022–2024 editions are also available while supplies last!

Hugh O'Brien Youth Leadership Seminar
Congratulations to Sophomore Aleah Hamid who represented EHTHS at the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership seminar this weekend as one of the 250 students from across the state. Ambassadors participated in various activities strengthening leadership skills and promoting community service, while also taking part in leadership training and motivation-building experiences.
Honors Latin American Studies
This past week, Mr. Cascio’s Honors Latin American Studies class visited El Museo del Barrio in Harlem, New York. This museum is placed within a predominantly Latino neighborhood and it has celebrated and preserved Latino art for decades. Students saw Afro-Brazilian spiritual sculptures, abstract Puerto Rican paintings, and Taíno artifacts. Afterwards they took a stroll through Central Park, explored Eastern Harlem, and had authentic food at a Mexican restaurant.
ALAB 12

PACE - Patient Care Technician Students

PACE Manufacturing
PACE's Manufacturing Program enjoyed an informative presentation given by Aaron Buchanan, from Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters. Each of the students were able to have a one-on-one conversation and group discussion about career prospects and mentored learning on site with the Carpenter Apprenticeship Program.
After the presentation, students had time to assist Mr. Russo with building an outdoor shed which will be used to store tools and other construction material. This was a wonderful opportunity to understand the crafts of carpentry.

#DAY 1
The High School will be continuing with this bullying-prevention program for the 2024-25 school year!
#DAY1--a staff and student-led philosophy that will serve to foster a building-wide atmosphere of kindness and inclusion, outline expectations for behavior toward each other and the responsibility to intervene, report and to reach out for help if individuals observe bullying behavior.
This program was started a few years ago in Bergen County by the Tyler Clementi Foundation and has gained momentum throughout the state and country for use in schools, community groups, workplaces, and sports teams.
The premise is simple: the adults in the building make a “declaration statement” about behavior that is expected, as well as behavior that is unacceptable, and we all pledge to conduct ourselves accordingly.
This includes seeking help when we witness unacceptable behavior occurring--this notion is called being an Upstander--an #EHTUPSTANDER. Hit the play button below and see for yourself! 🤩
Has YOUR student taken their #Upstander Pledge yet?!?
Have them sign into their school account and click here! 😊
🌟 THE FRESHMEN CURRENTLY HAVE THE MOST #EHTUPSTANDER PLEDGES!🌟
🌟 WHEN EAGLES SOAR WE ALL ACHIEVE!! 🌟
