Great Kindness Challenge

This week, Byam participated in the Great Kindness Challenge. The Great Kindness Challenge (GKC) is a proactive and positive bullying prevention initiative that improves school climate and increases student engagement. The Great Kindness Challenge is one week devoted to performing as many acts of kindness as possible on campus. Over 19 million students, 39 thousand schools and 110 countries participate in the GKC. The Great Kindness Challenge supports students in creating a culture of kindness and compassion while also strengthening their social and emotional well-being. During this powerful, unifying, and uplifting week, students are challenged to complete as many acts of kindness as possible using customizable checklists. The GKC gives every student an opportunity to model kindness and develop key social-emotional skills that are vital for school, work, and life success.

iReady Benchmark

We completed our mid-year iReady benchmark assessments this week in reading and mathematics. Just like in the fall, you will receive a parent letter and access to your student's results. The mid-year benchmark is always a great time to review progress made over the first half of the year. iReady also provides lessons for students that adjust to their progress and provide them with content matched to their needs. Students can access the iReady program at home by going through their Clever account for additional practice.

Reminder School Grounds Traffic

As winter is upon and our school grounds become trickier to negotiate with snow and ice. It is important to adhere traffic flow patterns and procedures. Please monitor speed as we have a busy arrival and dismissal times vehicles and pedestrians. The front of the building is designated for buses. When buses are unloading and have their stop signs extended. When dropping off students, please pull up as far as you can on the sidewalks so we can stage several cars and avoid backups. It is also important to have students exit cars on the sidewalk side to avoid traffic. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining the safety of everyone during these times.

2024-25 SCHOOL YEAR KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

BY APPOINTMENT ONLY

(Approximately 15 minute appointments)

TUESDAY & WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 30 & 31, 2024

9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION CENTRAL OFFICE

230 NORTH ROAD, CHELMSFORD, MA

Visit the Chelmsford Public Schools website. Click on the “RESERVE YOUR APPOINTMENT” link to enter parent/guardian contact information and preferred appointment time within a three-hour window.

You will then be contacted to confirm a date and time for your registration appointment. Registration packets may also be dropped off at the School Administration Office, 230 North Road, Chelmsford, MA: Monday – Friday; 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., if you are not able to attend these two dates.

In addition to the completed student registration packet, the required documentation to submit is listed on the CPS Student Registration page.
