We hope everyone enjoyed their time off with family and adjusted back to school last week. Personally, we've loved our slow mornings and played lots of board and card games during winter break but everyone is happy to be back into our routines.

The PTA holiday party was a blast! A big thank you to everyone who attended!

January, February, and March are packed with exciting events to get us through the winter! We'll have Breakfast with a Buddy(January), our very first annual Science and STEM Family Night (February), and the Whitney World of Wonders cultural fest with our Art Show (March).

We hope everyone can attend and enjoy these activities.

December was an amazing month! Thank you to all who organized class parties, helped with charity drives and completed their committee roles! We appreciate all of you and it would not be possible without your help!

The first round of Birthday Book Club! Thank you to the committee for doing such an excellent job at organizing the birthday book club!

Thank you to all the Whitney families who donated hats and gloves to our sharing tree. We received this note from the coordinator.

"Thank you for making this another successful year! We provided gifts for 95 children. Each child received 3 - $30 gifts cards, and your donations helped to fill the family bags with gifts. We were able to include hat/glove sets, socks, blankets, toys/games for the younger kids, food gift cards/body wash/loofahs/misc. toiletries for the older kids, and bags of candy. We were also able to include a family game, art kit or sports ball for each family. The gifts were distributed in December and the families were very appreciative of the generous donations.

I am grateful for your help filling the gifts bags and the quantity/quality of items donated exceeded my expectations. Attached are pictures of your group's donations, some of the packed bags, and one "unpacked" bag showing the items a family with 3 children received"

Thank you to everyone who set up, wrapped, budgeted, shopped, checked out, inventoried, counted money, tore down, and so much more. You didn’t just lend a hand; you gave a child the joy of giving.

Your monetary donations helped ensure even some of those children without funds, could pick out a special gift for their loved ones.

It is a true joy to see how happy the children are to give presents to their loved ones.

We are excited to announce the upcoming “Whitney’s World of Wonders” Cultural Fest, in conjunction with our Whitney Art Night, scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 2024, from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Our school community is wonderfully diverse, and we are seeking families to represent specific regions as outlined in the map below.

If you are interested in participating, please complete the survey by January 15, 2024. After all surveys are reviewed, the PTA will notify you of the participation selection. Due to space limitations, not all interested families may be able to participate this year and/or multiple families maybe placed together for the same region.

We look forward to celebrating our diverse cultures with you.

January 17th - Crazy Sock Day
