Pierce Downer this Week

Welcome Back! August 2, 2025
Pierce Downer Families,
I am once again honored to welcome you all back for a new school year! I hope this summer has been filled with fun memories, relaxing opportunities, and time in the sunshine. As we approach the beginning of the school year, there is a sense of newness that is coupled with deeply rooted traditions, values, and pride.
Each year I challenge myself to choose my "word of the year" to provide direction and inspiration. I have chosen the word INTEGRITY. I chose this word because it has two core definitions that I believe encompass both Pierce Downer School and me.
The first definition of integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles. It is often referenced as meaning to make the right decision for the right reason, even when no one is watching. Secondly, integrity is often used to express the state of something being whole and undivided. At Pierce Downer, this whole is far greater than the sum of its parts. Together we can achieve so much.
I look forward to seeing you at our Meet and Greet on Tuesday, August 13th from 2:45-3:30 and our PTA Back to School Bash immediately following.
The first day for student attendance is Friday, August 16th.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach to me with any questions. You can email me at LWagner@DG58.org or call the school office at 630-719-5860.
