Picture Day Info
Freshman through Junior students will have their photos taken for the yearbook on Thursday, September 5th during their English classes.
Order forms were sent home this past week. If a student did not get an order form, please send them to the Main Office to pick one up. Please fill this out and send it with your student if you plan to order photos!

🌟 DCHS Spotlight 🌟
We enjoyed having our Deer Creek community on campus last evening for Open House! It was great seeing so many of our parents. We look forward to partnering together this school year.
Today was our first Remote Learning Day. Thank you to our teacher and our families for making today a success.Our staff was able to collaborate together today and help prepare for a fantastic school year. Make sure you child submits all of their virtual assignments by Monday evening 9/2.

Office Hours
Our office hours have changed. We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7:45 am - 3:30 pm and Wednesday 8:45 am - 3:30 pm. We look forward to assisting you in person.
Transportation
Questions about Transportation? Please call 405.531.9317 or email transportation@dcsok.org. Leave a message that includes parent name, student name, address, addition and return phone number. Also if your student is a bus rider, ensure you download the parent app, My Ride K-12 (Formerly Traversa Ride 360). Instructions are available on the deercreekschools.org website under transportation.
Student Parking
All students driving on campus must have a valid parking permit. Starting the week of September 9th, DCHS administration will sweep parking lots to ensure all cars have permits. Be sure to stop by the Annex office to purchase a permit. More directions can be found linked here.

Volunteer Background Check
Just a friendly reminder, per district policy if you plan to volunteer any of your time for a school event, i.e. Band, Choir, Drama, all sports, field trips etc, you must have an Approved Volunteer Background Check on file. You may access the VBGC forms via MySchoolBucks.com or from the Main Office. Volunteer Background checks are $10.00 cash (if paying in person) or $12.00 via MySchoolBucks. Please note that it takes 1-2 week to process the applications.

Technology Device Protection Plan
All technology device protection plans can be purchased through My School Bucks. Click below for details. The price for this will increase after August 31, 2024.
English Class Novels
Required reading selections for English classes are available for purchase on My School Bucks. They will be on sale through September 4. Purchasing your books from the school ensures that students receive the correct edition of each book. Books will be delivered to students in their English classes.
Professional Collection
The DCHS Library has a professional collection just for you! Please check out the shelf in the reading room to find some great resources. We are always looking to add to our collection as well. If there is a professional title that interests you, please email wendyfrailey@dcsok.org.
DCHS Announcements
Lifelines
As part of our commitment to training the whole child in becoming a successful high school student, our staff will be introducing a variety of mini-units throughout the fall to equip 9th grade students with the skills needed to handle possible stressors which come with the new experiences of high school. Students will participate in Lifelines: A Suicide Prevention Program through their Keystone/Oklahoma History class. 2024 Women's in Science Conference
The district is interested in taking a group of high school students to the 2024 Women in Science Conference at Science Museum Oklahoma on October 8th.
This free conference is designed to allow students in grades six through 12 to engage in hands-on science activities; learn first-hand about science and technology career opportunities from Oklahoma’s top female scientists and engineers; and receive college preparation information from Oklahoma college, university, and outreach representatives.
Complete this 2024 Women's in Science Interest Form if your student is interested.
NHS
Invitations to NHS will go out September 16th. In order to qualify, students need a cumulative weighted GPA of 3.85 or higher AND be taking one honors class freshman year and two every year thereafter.
Academic Quiz Bowl
The Academic Quiz Bowl team is returning to Deer Creek High School! We are having our first meeting in the Transition Center on Thursday, September 5 right after school. Come prepared to answer some tough questions and show off your brain. Please email Erik Radtke with any questions."
Senior Parent Night
We will be hosting a Senior Parent Night on Tuesday, September 3rd at 6:00 p.m. in the PAAC auditorium. Come and gain information on college applications, scholarships, financial aid, and more. Reach out to your student's counselor with any questions. If you can't make it, that is ok! We will send out the presentation on September 6th.

Oklahoma School Testing Program
If your student was in the 3rd - 8th or 11th grade last year and participated in state testing, final score reports for the Spring 2024 Oklahoma School Testing Program have been released to the OSTP Parent/Student Portal.
For those who have an existing OSTP Parent/Student Portal account, you can access your student’s OSTP score report by logging in under the "Returning Users" header.
If you are a first-time user of the OSTP Parent/Student Portal, you will need your student’s state ID number (STN) and date of birth to create an account. Please check your Deer Creek Parent Portal account for your student’s state ID (after logging in, your student’s state ID is found on the home page).
