Northwoods Families,

I hope you had a wonderful spring break! Q4 officially begins today! Please be sure to read through the information and updates below, as we will have several important events happening during the next several weeks.

As a reminder, our annual Spring Fundraiser begins on Friday! Our goal is to raise $25,000 for new basketball hoops and other playground equipment. There are a variety of ways to participate, so please check out the fundraiser information below. We appreciate your support!!

Fifth Grade End of Year Celebration News!

5th grade families - it's not too soon to start thinking about the end of year celebration for our soon to be graduates! We need your help!

First, the 5th grade planning committee is collecting photos for the end of year slideshow shown at graduation. Every student will be featured in the slideshow with their 5th grade school picture. We also hope to include a picture of your child starting elementary school (or around that time frame). Please send an email to northwoods5th@gmail.com with the following information:

• Student Name
• Homeroom Teacher
• Age of student in photo
• Photo of your student around age 5.

Please send no later than January 30th!

Second, the 5th grade planning committee is coordinating with the school to create a memorable celebration at the end of the year. Northwoods PTA is generously contributing to the cost of this celebration, and we are starting to fundraise for the remaining amount.Families can contribute towards the fund by scanning the QR code above or by clicking on the "5th Grade Activities Donation" button below.

Non-Returning Family Survey:

Parents of current Kindergarten - 4th-grade students who are not returning to Northwoods for the 2025-26 school year are asked to complete this survey so that we may begin planning for future staffing needs. Families of rising 6th graders DO NOT need to complete the survey unless their child is transferring out of district or state.

Spring Pictures:

Spring Pictures are scheduled for Wednesday, April 9th. As a reminder, students will NOT receive an order form before our Spring Picture Day. Instead, packets containing pictures and directions for purchasing those pictures will be sent home 2-3 weeks after picture day.

Field Day:

Mark your calendars! Field Day is scheduled for May 23rd. In the event of inclement weather, we will move the events inside. More information, including our field day schedule, will be shared in the coming weeks.

End-of-Grade Testing Schedule:

End-of-Grade testing is right around the corner! To help you plan ahead, we have posted testing dates for each grade (3rd-5th) on our website, and I've attached a flier with testing dates for you. Please remember, all 3rd-5th grade students are expected to participate in EOG testing. The state is no longer approving exemption requests for travel purposes.

Kindergarten Orientation:

Calling all rising kindergarten families! Our annual kindergarten orientation event is scheduled for Tuesday, April 29th from 2:00 - 3:00 PM.

Spring International Festival:

Save the Date!! Our spring International Night is scheduled for Thursday, May 15th from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. We are looking for performers and families who are interested in hosting a table. If you are interested, please email NorthwoodsPTAEgmail.com.

Spring Fundraiser:

Our annual spring fundraiser begins on Friday, April 11th and runs through Friday, April 25th. We have a lofty goal of $25,000 to support our amazing programs and events and initiatives. This year's funding spotlight is on much needed playground and basketball court renovations! All students will participate in a 30 minute fun run relay on April 25th, and if you'd like to pledge on a per minute basis - you can do that through the Booster platform!
