❗ IMPORTANT INFO ❗
🚍New Bus Passes🚍
Many of your students have received bus passes. They will be using these passes to enter and exit the bus, which will help us know where your student is at all times.
Please make sure the lanyards are kept in a safe place and returned with the students when they board the bus tomorrow. We recommend you attach the pass to your student's backpack.
If your student did not receive a bus pass, please complete this School Bus Transportation Request. We will continue to work on making sure all students have a bus pass and that they are programmed for their correct route. Until we work out the kinks, all students are welcome on the bus without a pass.
Friday Fitness👟👟👟
Friday Fitness has begun. The back playground door will open on Fridays at 7:45 and close at 7:50. See you there!

Required School Vaccinations
Getting vaccinated is an important part of keeping kids in school, as it prevents them from catching and spreading diseases that can make them sick. Colorado law requires pre-K - 12th grade students to be vaccinated against many of the diseases that vaccines can prevent, unless an annual Certificate of Exemption is filed.
To attend school, your child must be vaccinated against:
● Diphtheria, tetanus, and pertussis (DTaP, Tdap)
● Polio (IPV)
● Hepatitis B (HepB)
● Varicella (chickenpox)
● Measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR)
In the next 2 weeks, SCE Health Office staff will be in contact with you if your student is not in compliance with required school vaccinations. Students not in compliance will need a plan to vaccinate or file for exemption, otherwise they may be excluded from school. For more information, visit cdphe.colorado.gov/schoolrequiredvaccines.
Colorado Immunization Registry Notice: Your right to Opt Out
Under Colorado Revised Statutes 25-4-2403, this serves as notification that your child’s vaccine information is being entered into the Colorado Immunization Information System (CIIS), a confidential, secure, statewide immunization registry. You may choose to remove your child’s vaccine information from CIIS at any time. This is not to be confused with choosing to decline one or more school-required vaccines for your child in a process known as a vaccine exemption. Please see your healthcare provider for further
information or visit cdphe.colorado.gov/ciis-opt-out-procedures.
THANK YOU - From the Library
Book Fair Thanks: Many thanks to our SCE community for your support of our Fall Book Fair. With your help, we raised just over $3000 for the Soda Creek Library. These funds will increase our ability to purchase materials for the library, both for student use and to support curriculum needs in the classrooms. Thank you!

Be a Part of Our Parent Involvement Committee (PIC)
The Parent Involvement Committee has many opportunities to get involved for this year! Chair roles are listed from Small to Medium time requirements. It is not necessary for most of the roles to attend all monthly meetings. Meetings are held at Soda Creek, every 2nd Tuesday of the month at noon. The most immediate need is to fill the role of the Treasurer which is a medium time commitment, 5 hours a month. This role does not need to attend monthly meetings, however will need to update the president with the report to share at the monthly meeting. Please see the roles available and place your name and contact info on the chair role you are interested in. If you have any questions, please email Sarah Burg at sceseadogspic@gmail.com. Thank you! 2024/2025 PIC Chair Roles
Instructions for the SCE LOOP!
Please follow these guidelines for drop-off and pick-up.
Use the Loop if your student can independently exit and enter your car from the right/passenger side.
Pull as far forward as you can. Keep moving up, don’t leave open spaces between cars, and stay in your vehicle. If your younger child cannot exit independently, please pull all the way forward to the front. There will be staff there to open the door and help your child out of the right/passenger side of the car.
If you prefer to assist your child in getting out of the car, please park in the lot or on the street. We ask that you walk your child across the parking lot to ensure their safety.
The loop is a cell phone free zone.

🍎🥗From the Kitchen 🍕🥕
Our school nutrition staff looks forward to welcoming students back to school! We will continue serving healthy school lunches to fuel our students for success. Due to lack of available staff, our nutrition services will not be serving school breakfast. Please send your student to school with this in mind.
For the 2024/25 school year, lunches are free to all students. Milk or juice is included in lunch; however there will be no drinks available for individual purchase. Complete a Household Application for Free and Reduced-Price School Meals to determine if your family qualifies for other government programs.
Thank you for your patience as we sort through these supply chain and employment issues. For updates from the nutrition department as well as the school lunch calendar, please reference the lunch website here.
The price for an Adult lunch is $6.00. If you would like to join your child for lunch, please bring $6.00 cash or check to the cafeteria.
