Randolph Heights Elementary
Welcome Back
I hope everyone had a great winter break with time to get out and enjoy the time off. I also hope everyone stayed healthy during this time of never-ending illnesses. Students were eager to get back into the swing of school. We look forward to this stretch of school where we can focus on academics and the joy of learning.
Winter Weather
With the return of school after winter break, we also have the return of winter weather. This is just a gentle reminder that all students go outside for recess every day unless the actual temperature is below zero, or the windchill is below -10 degrees. It is important for all students to come to school prepared to go outside with winter gear. That includes boots, snow-pants, mittens or gloves and hats. We have extras in the office if students forget, but we have been stretched pretty thin this year with the number of students borrowing this gear.
Open House
The Randolph Heights Open House this year will take place on Thursday, January 30th from 9:00 a.m to 12:30 p.m. Families will be able to visit the school to see how it feels during the day and kindergarten teachers will be available to talk with and answer questions from prospective parents from 11:30 to 12:15. If you or anyone you know is looking at kindergarten options for next year, please join us to see the school in action and talk with the kindergarten team.
Upcoming Events
Just a reminder that there is no school in observation of the MLK Holiday for students on January 20th. There is no school on January 27th for a teacher professional development day.
Also, the January Award Ceremony will take place on January 29th. Parent will receive an invitation if their child is being recognized.
Lego League
The Randolph Heights Lego League Team, #drainserpents, will be in action tomorrow at the Lego League competition. It takes place at Capitol Hill and we wish the team luck. We know they will do an awesome job representing Randolph Heights and themselves. Go DrainSerpents!
