Happy New Year Liberty Families!

I hope you had a wonderful winter break and are starting the New Year feeling reenergized and recharged. The Liberty Staff is excited to welcome your children back to school tomorrow!

Here are a few reminders and pieces of information to help us transition back into the school routine this week:

*Please make sure that Chromebooks get charged tonight so they are ready for use tomorrow.

*Pack that cold weather gear! As a reminder, students go outside for recess if the "feels like" temperature is 10° or warmer, and the time outdoors is so much more enjoyable when students are dressed appropriately.

*Within the next two weeks, 3rd-5th grade students will take the Sense of Belonging survey. This is part of D300’s continuing effort to improve our understanding of our students' needs and how well students feel like they belong in their school. Although our school values the voices and perspectives of our pre-K through 2nd grade students, we do not feel that the reading level of the assessment suits the average literacy of our youngest students.

*As a reminder, student dismissal is at 2:15pm, and we have put changes in place this year for more efficient car rider lines. Therefore, the car rider line is typically wrapped up by 2:25pm. Please be prompt in picking up your children at the end of the day. They worry when you are late. If you pick up later than 2:25, you must come into the office to get your children. If an emergency occurs and you will be late to pick up, please call the Liberty office to notify us of the situation.

¡Feliz año nuevo familias Liberty!

Espero que hayan tenido unas maravillosas vacaciones de invierno y que estén comenzando el Año Nuevo sintiéndose revitalizados y recargados. ¡El personal de Liberty está emocionado de darles la bienvenida a sus hijos a la escuela mañana!

Aquí hay algunos recordatorios e información que nos ayudarán a volver a la rutina escolar esta semana:

*Asegúrate de que los Chromebooks se carguen esta noche para que estén listos para usarse mañana.

*¡Empaca ese equipo para el clima frío! Como recordatorio, los estudiantes salen a la calle durante el recreo si la temperatura "se siente" es de 10 °C o más, y el tiempo al aire libre es mucho más agradable cuando los estudiantes están vestidos apropiadamente.

*Dentro de las próximas dos semanas, los estudiantes de 3º a 5º grado tomarán la encuesta de Sentido de Pertenencia. Esto es parte del esfuerzo continuo del D300 para mejorar nuestra comprensión de las necesidades de nuestros estudiantes y qué tan bien los estudiantes se sienten parte de su escuela. Aunque nuestra escuela valora las voces y perspectivas de nuestros estudiantes de prekínder a segundo grado, no creemos que el nivel de lectura de la evaluación se adapte al nivel de alfabetización promedio de nuestros estudiantes más jóvenes.

*Como recordatorio, la salida de los estudiantes es a las 2:15 p.m. y este año hemos implementado cambios para lograr filas más eficientes para los pasajeros en automóvil. Por lo tanto, la fila de pasajeros en automóvil generalmente termina a las 2:25 p.m. Por favor sea puntual al recoger a sus hijos al final del día. Se preocupan cuando llegas tarde. Si recoge más tarde de las 2:25, debe venir a la oficina a recoger a sus hijos. Si ocurre una emergencia y llega tarde a recogerlo, llame a la oficina de Liberty para notificarnos la situación.

CULTURAL FEST- FESTIVAL CULTURAL

We invite all families to attend this great event! Families can set up a table to represent their country/culture or just attend the Fest to visit all the tables and join other Liberty families in celebrating our diverse school!

When: January 31st

Where: Liberty Elementary

Time: 5:00pm-6:30pm

Please fill out this form if your family would like to set up a table to represent your culture or if you would like to do a short performance representing your culture. Families who want to set up a table for the same country/culture will be connected through the school so that you can work together.

¡Invitamos a todas las familias a participar en este gran evento! Cualquier familia puede preparar una mesa representando a su país o su cultura, o bien, aprendiendo y celebrando con su presencia la gran diversidad cultural de nuestra escuela .

Complete este formulario si a su familia le gustaría instalar una mesa para representar su cultura o si le gustaría hacer una actuación breve que represente su cultura. Note of Appreciation Program

The Note of Appreciation program is continuing for the 2024-25 school year.

What is the Note of Appreciation Program? The Note of Appreciation program allows families to recognize outstanding District 300 staff members who have made a positive impact on their students. Parents and guardians can nominate any staff member – teachers, paraeducators, school nurses, lunchroom staff, custodians, coaches, or others – by submitting a Note of Appreciation through this online form. Thank you for sharing your appreciation with the Liberty staff!
