The Cardinal's Nest
Volume 87 | Issue 15 | Monday, February 3 , 2025
Dear Christ the King School Families,
Happy Monday!! Catholic Schools Week was celebrated with immense joy and community-building, and I cannot begin to express my gratitude to the faculty, staff, parents, volunteers, and students!! From dressing in class colors to attending Mass offered by the Bishop (thank you!!), from participating in a K9 demonstration (thanks to the Fitzpatricks!) to enjoying an all-day fun day with volleyball, the week was filled with laughter and happiness!! Our week began with a celebration of the parish on Sunday, and ended today with a celebration of families. Blessings abound.
The total amount of money donated for the Break-the-Rules Dress Down Day will be shared later today, as well as the winners of the Coin Wars.
As always, please feel free to email, call, or stop by to chat with me at any time.
In Christ,
Kelley Alderman
CKS Principal

CABARET AUCTION: HELP NEEDED
Online Auction
This week over 200 letters went out to potential donors requesting items for the 2025 Cabaret Online Auction. Area businesses get LOTS of requests and they are more likely to respond to these requests when they are also contacted directly by someone they know personally or a customer they see often. Here's where you can help:
The list of potential donors can BE FOUND HERE. Please take a second to check it out and if you see a business you have a personal connection with or frequent often, put your name in the "Volunteer Contacting" column and reach out on behalf of CKS.
For your reference, the letter donors received IS HERE and the donation form IS HERE.
Is there a great business missing from the list? Send Jon Hughes an email at jhughes@cksvt.org with the business name and location/address and he will get a letter out to them and add them to the list.
Cabaret Live Auction
The Cabaret Live auction is a great opportunity to auction off big ticket items. Last year's Live Auction items raised over $5,000! Past items have included Red Sox tickets, art, a week at a family's lake house, an in-home meal prepared by a chef, housing in Spain and Mexico, sports memorabilia, and other great items and experiences. Do you have season tickets and would be willing to offer a game? Does your family have a vacation home that you could offer for a week? Do you have a new idea that you think might be successful? Let Jon Hughes know at jhughes@cksvt.org as soon as you can if you have an item/experience or suggestion to offer!
