FES: Monthly Newsletter
March 2025- Read Across America Month!
ππ€Principal Message ππ€
FES Families,
Spring is in the air, and with it comes a season of growth, learning, and excitement at Freeland Elementary School! As the days get longer and the weather warms up, our students are engaged in enriching activities both in and out of the classroom. From hands-on projects to March is Reading Month, we are embracing the energy of the season.
Spring also marks an important time for student assessments. In the coming months, our students will participate in spring testing, including NWEA (3rd-6th Grade), MSTEP (3rd-6th Grade), and iReady (2nd-6th Grade). These assessments provide valuable insight into student progress and help us tailor instruction to best meet their needs.
NWEA- March
MSTEP- April/May (6th Grade)
iReady- May
We appreciate your partnership in helping our students finish the year strong. If you have any questions about testing or ways to support your child, please reach out to [contact information].
Thank you for your continued support, and letβs enjoy this wonderful spring season together!
Your Proud Principal,
Mrs. McKenna
P.S. We are still looking for volunteers to make our PTO Spring Carnival a success! Please CLICK HERE if you are able to donate your time.
π Spring Weather = Mud, Puddles, and More Mud! β
While we remind students on a daily basis to avoid the mud and water as much as possible so that they can remain comfortable throughout the day, this won't always be the case. Students are always welcome to call home if they need a change of clothes or shoes, or if needed the can store an extra set of clothing at school. Unfortunately, we won't be able to provide extra sets of clothing at school each time. Thank you for understanding!
π Parking and Drop Off Reminders π
- During the time frames of 7:15-7:45, 8:30-9:15, 2:10-2:40, and 3:30-4:00, we ask that cars are not parking in our front lot. These time frames are designated for our bus fleet to get in and out of the lot easily.
- At morning drop offs, please continue to pull as far forward as possible to have space for additional cars to drop off and to keep the flow of traffic moving.
- We kindly ask for your help in ensuring that our handicap parking spaces in the main lot remain available for those who truly need them. These spaces are designated for individuals with valid handicap permits and are essential for providing safe and accessible parking for those with mobility challenges. If you do not have a handicap permit, please use other available parking spaces. This small act of consideration helps us create an inclusive and respectful environment for all members of our school community. Thank you for your cooperation and support in making our school a welcoming place for everyone.
