Another great week at CCE. This week was our last week of the year for 2024 with our Westwood Pals. Third grade had a wonderful field trip experience, we continued our Hour of Code sessions, Holiday Stories were in full swing, and we completed another fun week of Holly Jolly Days! Only 4 more days until the winter break.

CCE would also like to extend our BIGGEST THANK YOU to our PTA for organizing the Holiday Fair. An extra thank you to all the ones that stay late, donate their personal items, and to those that handle all the not-so-glamorous behind the scenes work. You do not go unnoticed! We appreciate your efforts more than you know!

Coat Distribution Project

Keep Round Rock Warm is a Coat Distribution Project of the Round Rock Area Serving Center. Students who attend Round Rock ISD and are enrolled in the Free or Reduced Lunch Program qualify for free coats through the Round Rock Area Serving Center (1099 E. Main Street, Round Rock, Texas 78664, 512-244-2431. Families can apply for coats at www.rrasc.org from November 1, 2024 through December 20, 2024.

HOUR OF CODE WEEKS CONTINUES!

Dec 9-13 is the official annual national Hour of Code. The "Hour of Code" is a global initiative aimed at introducing people of all ages to the basics of computer programming through a single, one-hour coding activity, designed to show that anyone can learn to code and spark interest in computer science, typically taking place during Computer Science Education Week each year; it's a fun and accessible way to demystify coding and encourage participation in the field.

Although there are a multitude of amazing websites out there to explore, students at CCES get to join Mrs. Connair in the "Creation Cave" for hands on coding robots! In addition to a few more of our Kinder, 1st, and 4th getting to complete lessons shared last week, this week 2nd and 3rd graders got to color snowmen or a house with someone that would love to visit in the holidays and use colors to code their Sphero Indi to make their way through the winter wonderful! 5th graders STEAM'ed it out and colored a a variety of winter images and the had their Sphero Bolt drive their pathway with the challenge of not letting their snoman fall off of their sleigh!
