The SWIS SCOOP
SWIS Updates
Dear SWIS Community,
We are off to a fantastic start this school year! Curriculum and academic routines are already being established, setting the foundation for an incredible year of learning. Our entire school recently participated in our first PBIS assembly, and we are excited to celebrate all the wonderful things happening daily in our school and recognize not only class achievements but also our student successes.
We have completed our fall iReady Math assessment and look forward to administering our beginning of the year reading diagnostic next week. This will give us valuable baseline data to help address the specific needs of each student.
A big thank you to everyone who attended Know Your School Nights! It was wonderful to have our community back in the hallways of SWIS. As we move forward, please continue to maintain open lines of communication with your childโs teacher. We appreciate your establishing consistent nightly routines, including homework and bedtime, to ensure our students are well-rested and well-prepared for a fantastic day of learning.
Please remember that our bi-weekly Sโmore, The SWIS Scoop, will be the main resource for information, tips, reminders, upcoming events, and important dates, as well as the platform for pictures of our SWIS Scholars in action. Each Sโmore will be sent via One Call and posted on the APS Facebook page for easy access.
Finally, we are excited to kick off "Start with Hello" this Monday, where students will engage in team-building and community activities throughout the week. (See below for more details and keep your eyes out for pictures in our next Volume of The SWIS Scoop.)
Thank you for your support and have a fantastic weekend!
Yours in Education,
Dr. Lopez
