Lakeland Highlights
December 2024/2025
Superintendent's Message
Greetings Lakeland Families,
As the board starts to make decisions regarding budget cuts necessitated by the failed levy, I will include those items in our monthly highlights. If you have any questions as we move forward, please be sure to email or call me. I will do my best to answer your questions.
I understand that these budget issues are causing many of us angst and concern. However, at this time of year I think it is important for us to focus on all of the things we are grateful for. I am blessed to work with the most amazing staff in the state. Our Lakeland team cares deeply about the success of our students. I am grateful for the partnership with our parents. Thank you for entrusting your sweet students with us. We live in the most beautiful place in the world! I hope you all have some time to enjoy all that north Idaho has to offer during Christmas.
Today is the last day of school before Christmas Vacation begins. School resumes on Monday, January 6th. I hope you all have a wonderful, family filled Christmas holiday and look forward to seeing all of you in the new year!
Merry Christmas!
Lisa Arnold
District Highlights
We want to give a big thank you to the Timberlake Boosters and many community members and parents for volunteering their time and resources to update the Timberlake High School wrestling room. This came just in time for wrestling season! Go Tigers!
This year we are highlighting the Twin Lakes Elementary Veterans Day ceremony. This ceremony is one of the 11 Veterans Day ceremonies held across the District. The Lakeland Jt. School District has made an intentional decision to hold school for Veterans Day. Educating our students about what it means to be a veteran helps them connect with the history of courage and resilience that shapes our nation, fostering pride and a sense of responsibility to uphold these values. Every one of our schools holds a Veterans Day celebration that is open to the public.
In this way we honor our veterans.
The Lakeland Theatre Department Production of the Little Mermaid Jr.
The Lakeland Jt. School District would like to thank everyone involved in making this project happen. This building will be a great asset to the Lakeland High School and to the Lakeland community.
A big thank you to Parker Toyota for their donation made to the Timberlake High School Field House. The Timberlake Fieldhouse Project is a facility that will give the youth in Spirit Lake, Athol, and the surrounding areas a place to stay active year round with athletics and other community events. The 120' x 80' facility will be built on the Timberlake High School campus with 100% private donations. Timberlake High School, the community, and most importantly the youth will benefit from this project for years to come.

We realize that many people are unable to attend our monthly parent advocacy meetings due to time constraints. In an effort to ensure that your questions are answered, we are putting a link on the district website under the Parents/Students tab and then Parent Advocacy where you can provide agenda items you would like to have discussed. If you are unable to attend, you will at least be able to listen to the discussion via the video link for the month. We appreciate your partnership! Thank you for sharing your children with us! We will be sharing the running agenda/minutes here.
