Attendance
Whole School Attendance this week - 91.5%
We are aiming for at least 97% - let's work together to make this happen!!
Please remember that if your child is going to be absent from school you should call school before 8.30am to report this. If they are off for multiple days, you should call school each day that they are off. If your child is suffering from something such as a cough or cold we do recommend that you send them into school and see how they get on. It is amazing how many children perk up once they get into school and we can assure you that if it becomes evident that a child should not be in school we will make contact with yourself as parent/carer.
As a school, our attendance has greatly improved over the last year and this is all thanks to you and the effort you are making in getting your children into school every day.
Weekly Reflection
We have been reflecting on the word 'love' this week as we continued to listen to the nativity story. Our Reception and KS1 children performed their own nativity this week. All of the children were absolutely amazing - a huge well done, we are very proud of you all!
Safeguarding
Please can all pedestrians and drivers be mindful of the zebra crossing outside of school. Please read a reminder of the rules around zebra crossings from the highway code -
When using any type of crossing you should
- always check that the traffic has stopped before you start to cross or push a pram onto a crossing
- always cross between the studs or over the zebra markings. Do not cross at the side of the crossing or on the zig-zag lines, as it can be dangerous.
Give traffic plenty of time to see you and to stop before you start to cross. Vehicles will need more time when the road is slippery. Wait until traffic has stopped from both directions or the road is clear before crossing. Remember that traffic does not have to stop until someone has moved onto the crossing.
Drivers and riders should give way to pedestrians waiting to cross and MUST give way to pedestrians on a zebra crossing. Keep looking both ways, and listening, in case a driver or rider has not seen you and attempts to overtake a vehicle that has stopped.
