The next Mock Newbery discussion is scheduled for Thursday, December 3 at 6pm. We'll be discussing the second reading list in preparation for voting on January 14. We'll start the meeting highlighting the titles added on 10/8 or marked "to be discussed 12/3."

Summer Reading 2021 Updates
- Manuals on USB drives have been distributed to libraries through delivery. If your library has not received a manual please contact danielle.margarida@olis.ri.gov.
- Vouchers for purchasing thematic materials from the CSLP online shop will be distributed to library contacts within the next week. You can access the CSLP shop at https://www.cslpreads.org/cslp-store/ and allowable voucher items can be found at https://www.cslpreads.org/product-category/lsta-allowable/rhode-island/
- CSLP partner the Network of the National Library of Medicine (NNLM) has a new web page with resources for public libraries. This landing page features not only summer reading program resources, but also health information, programming resources, and recorded webinars.

Louttit Library Children's Librarian Stephanie Barta was recently featured in the Book Riot article
Hydrogen Peroxide, Lollipops, and Toilet Paper: Check Out Pandemic Library Take-Home Kits.
Stephanie's screen free Take-Home Storytime Kits were highlighted along with take-home kits from five other libraries from across the country. Fantastic work Stephanie!

Join the Kids Reading Across RI Committee
Public librarians, school librarians and teachers who have experience with children in grades 3 - 6 are invited to join the Kids Reading Across RI (KRARI) Committee. KRARI comittee members will select the 2021 book, help develop and facilitate virtual events and activities, and create a discussion guide and related resources for KRARI book discussions.
Recommend Books to the KRARI Committee
Don't have time to participate in the KRARI committee, but have a few favorite books to recommend? Use the form below to suggest up to three books for 2021 consideration. The form will be open through Dec. 4 and you may submit as many forms as you like.
