Semester 2/Q3 Begins - Students return

Recently, four veterans from New Berlin, representing all 4 branches of the armed forces, got together and captured a "Pretzel Moment" to share with us! The four friends attended New Berlin High School in the mid-nineteen fifties, and later joined the military, with each Pretzel serving our country in a separate branch of the miliatry. Pictured left to right: Ron Workman - US Navy, Bob Komnick - US Marines, Jim Roesch - US Air Force, and Larry Neuman - US Army. Thank you to all for your service to our country and for being an inspiration to all of us by showing your Pretzel Pride!

Kayla Peck and Douglas Draeger of BLDD Architecs met with our high school student leadership team this week to present a project that they are seeking their ideas and input on. Kayla and her father have done several projects in which old limestone structures are taken from the old school and repurposed in some manner into the new building grounds. They met with students and talked about the use of the limestone High School Unit District 16 signage and structures from the original building and turning them into something for the new building grounds. The students worked in small groups and then pitched their design ideas to Kayla and Douglas. I am looking forward to seeing this progress as they continue to work with the students on this project!

24.25 BLDD Limestone Project

We are just past the mid-term, and the end of the semester is just a few weeks away! When I ran a missing assignment report this week, we have over 50 students that have 3 or more missing assignments. These assignments need to be completed and turned in. These reports were given to students on Friday with a notice that all missing work must be turned in before leaving for Thanksgiving Break on Tuesday, or the grades will become zeros. Some students have missing assingments dating back to the beginning of Q2!

We will have after school support on Monday, November 25th from 3:30-4:30 for any students that have missing assignments and need extra help completing their work.

If your child is an athlete that leaves during Advisory to go to practice at a CO-OP school, they will not leave Advisory early to attend practice until they have all of their missing work completed.
