Wednesday, October 9, is a teacher workday. No school for students.

As a reminder, the weather make-up day scheduled for November 1 has been rescheduled for October 31. Students will attend school on Thursday, October 31. We will have a teacher workday on Friday, November 1 (no school for students).

The PTA’s no-fuss fundraiser is underway! Now through Oct. 30, we are raising money to support the various programs led by your PTA. These funds help with cultural arts programs, campus beautification, hospitality programs for staff, and much more. We call it no-fuss because we won’t ask you to sell anything or ask for more later in the year. And we have a special offer on the table for this week; we have a generous family who will donate a matching gift of $1000 if we raise $1000 by Oct. 11, so get those donations in now! Our first spirit night will be Monday, October 7, from 5PM to 10PM at Milton's Pizza and Pasta. Please join us for this opportunity to dine together and raise money for our school.

All families are reminded that meal benefits from the 2018-19 school year expire on October 8, 2019. Families that are interested in continuing their meal benefits should submit a new application before Wednesday, Oct. 9. After this date, students for whom we have not received an updated application will have to pay full price for all meals. Families may apply on-line at www.MySchoolApps.com or pick up a paper application at Carroll.

Celebrations are in order! Last week, we passed 10,000 lessons completed on DreamBox! Students are steadily growing and making progress all over the board. Please continue to encourage your student to meet the goal of sixty minutes a week.

We will have an information night for Hispanic families on Thursday 10/24, 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 pm. Childcare will be provided.

Student agendas can still be purchased in the main office for $3. These are required for 6th graders and optional for 7th and 8th. Parents may also make a purchase through Online School Payments; just have the student bring a printout of the receipt to the main office.

CMMS Book Club- Meets on Tuesdays in room 1222, Ms. Circle’s room.

Introduction to American Sign Language- Meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month from 2:30-3:30 in room 2708, Ms. Pierce’s room.

Lighthouse- Applications are available in the student service center and can be delivered to your child’s My Learning teacher.

National Jr. Beta Club- Meets the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from 3-4 PM in room 1701, Ms. Pollen’s room.

Beginning Orchestra Club- Meets every Tuesday from 2:30-4:30 PM in the Strings/Mindfulness Room.

Junior Librarian and Tech Team- Please email Ms. Biddlecome, mbiddlecome@wcpss.net to get your child involved with this club. Club Shirt order forms are available in the student service center.

Cross-Country Running Club- Meets on Mondays from 2:45-3:45 in Ms. Sharpe’s room, beginning on October 14th.

Textiles and Fashion Club- Meets on Tuesdays from 2:45-3:45, in room 2709, Ms. Stewart-Hines’ room.

Garden Club- Will begin after winter break.

The activity bus runs Monday - Thursday. The activity bus arrives at 5:00 and will depart the Carroll campus at 5:15.
