Message From the Principal
Happy Friday Titans!
Success resides within our students when they know someone genuinely believes they can achieve academic and personal goals by setting expectations high. This connection between students, teachers, and parents is the key to a shared belief in our students' learning. Our school is best when we are smart, happy, and connected.
This past Tuesday, the PTSA sponsored "Get Connected Night," a family night designed to showcase all the extra clubs, sports, activities, and offerings. Our families came out in numbers, bustling with excitement. The community came together to show students we care about the whole child. Coaches, advisers, chairs, business partners, and the PTSA were there to spark interests and entice students to be risk-takers. If you were unable to attend you missed some fantastic food, and impromptu line-dancing initiated by Coach Tyus and Dr. Duncan. However, you need not miss out on the information, click here to visit the "Get Connected" tab on our website.
This weekend I will be packing to go on the 8th grade Savannah trip. It will be exciting to see the Georgia Studies curriculum come to life. We will be leaving on Tuesday, October 2nd at 7:00 am in the morning and returning Thursday, October 4th, approximately at 7:30 pm in the evening. Some interesting things we will be visiting include the First African Baptist Church, River Street, Tybee Island, the hometown of President Jimmy Carter, and more.
Next Friday, October 5th is a Teacher Work Day. There will be no school for students, and the following Monday, October 8th is the Columbus Day holiday.
Sincerely,
Kindra L. Smith, Ed.S
Principal
