New Process for Software, Hardware and App Requests:
New forms and a slightly different process are being implemented for making SpEd software and hardware requests. You can find forms in the Technology Resources Section of Blackboard under the "AT Request" tab on the left side. If the request is for an individual student, start with the SETT Framework form in the AT Section of the Special Education section of Blackboard and contact Kim Leaf. If the request is for hardware or software for several of your students, start with the form form indicated in this link. Contact Kim Leaf with any questions.
ESY is Coming Soon!
Plans and preparation are underway for this year's ESY program. Come enjoy the fun! If you are interested in working ESY this summer, please contact your coordinator and complete the ESY Service Provider Letter by February 27th.
February is also the time to complete revision paperwork for any student who was previously “to be determined” and is now eligible for ESY. Revision paperwork can be completed during Parent/Teacher conferences. Parent/Teachers conferences are also an opportune time to inform parents of ESY dates and location.

Please take the time to read this prior to parent teacher conferences. Our hope is that it will provide insight into the many worries our parents (and teachers) face each day and also remind you of the powerful role you play in supporting our students, families and staff. Social/Emotional/Behavioral Resources:
At our last Quartlerly Resource Teacher Meeting, teachers had the opportunity to hear about and explore several materials that can be used to support students with social/emotional and behavioral needs. We have included the resources below. Please contact your coordinator and/or Sara Dilday if you have questions or would like more information about a particular resource.
Model Me Kids:
Age: 2-17
Model Me Kids® videos demonstrate social skills by modeling peer behavior at school, on a playdate, at a birthday party, on the playground, at a library, at the dentist, restaurant, and more. Designed as a teaching tool for children, adolescents, and teenagers with Autism, Asperger Syndrome, and developmental delays, the videos are used by teachers, parents, and therapists. Real children model each skill.
Social Behavior Mapping: Connecting Behavior, Emotions and Consequences Across the Day

Social Behavior Mapping is a strategy to teach individuals about the specific relationship between behaviors, others' perspectives, others' actions (consequences) and the student's own emotions about those around him or her. SBM is a visual tool that displays these abstract concepts through a flow chart.

Courtney has downloaded a comprehensive collection of the resources and materials she uses to implement the Zones of Regulation and Social Thinking strategies in her program. In addition, you will find social stories, powercards and different ideas for positive behavioral supports.
TASN: Autism and Tertiary Behavior Supports
Lending Library
The TASN lending library has a large collection of materials for autism and behavioral supports. Materials can be check out through them. They will provide you with an addressed envelope for the return. You are responsible for the media mail rate for returning the materials. This is a great way to try out a resource before purchasing it.

You Are a Social Detective: Explaining Social Thinking to Kids
