Dear Parents and Guardians,
THANK YOU for attending your child's parent teacher conference. As a building we had a 96% attendance rate which is fantastic! Together, we are a team working to help your child grow and learn. Thank you for partnering with us and supporting our daily efforts!!
Our Veteran's Day concert will be on Monday, November 11 @ 10:30 with a luncheon to follow for all veteran's and students that they are related to in our library. Students and staff are encouraged to wear RED, WHITE and BLUE that day. If you haven't already returned your RSVP form to Mrs. Moran, our school secretary, please do so by Tuesday, November 5!
Walk to School Day will be Friday, November 15! IF you would like to join us, meet at Eden Community Park at 7:30am. Teachers and staff will be there to meet students and walk with them to school.

Literacy Tips for Use at Home!
Literacy Spotlight: Nurturing Reading and Writing Skills at Home
Interactive Reading: Help your child transform reading from a passive activity to an engaging and dynamic experience. Interactive reading often involves summarizing and retelling. These activities help children understand story structure and develop their ability to sequence events and communicate effectively. Here are a few ways you can make reading interactive at home:
Act It Out: after reading a story, act out parts with your child. This helps children connect with the characters and understand the narrative better.
Create Sound Effects: use household items or instruments for different parts of the story. Sound effects can spark creativity and imagination and enhance creative thinking.
Use Props and Visuals: incorporate props or visual aids related to the story. For example, if reading about a pirate adventure, use a toy ship or pirate hat to make the experience more immersive.
Social-Emotional Learning Focus for October: RESPECT
We are looking forward to focusing on Gratitude this month! One way to think about Gratitude is “choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives.” Practicing Gratitude can increase our well-being and even our happiness! Gratitude is 1 of 3 traits we will focus on throughout the year that helps students Be Well. Across grade levels, students will be developing skills like emotion regulation, positive self-talk, and stress-management.
Have some fun connecting as a family this month while practicing Gratitude. Here are 2 “PurposeFull Pursuits” you can complete together!
1. What are some small, specific things that you are Grateful for? Maybe it is your favorite water cup, the way the cat sleeps on the chair, or when your grandma bakes banana bread. Spend some time as a family trying to think of at least 10 small things that you have Gratitude for and then choose to notice them this week with a smile.
2. Review Gratitude as a family! Remember that Gratitude is choosing to appreciate the people and things in our lives. Find a place in your home to display a glass jar. Cut up small slips of paper and place them next to the jar. Use the jar to collect special people, places, events, and memories that your family is thankful for. Find a time each week to add slips of Gratitude to the jar and assist students in writing or drawing gratitude as needed. Having a gloomy day or a challenging time as a family? Pull out the slips of Gratitude and read them aloud together as a reminder of your Grateful moments.
