Welcome Back! We Missed You All!
A Message from Mr Netzer
1/7/2021
Dear Skyview families,
I hope this message finds you well as we are entering the new year here at Skyview. I am entering this second half of the school year with renewed optimism and hope. I believe we have a light at the end of the tunnel that we can focus on in this challenging season. However, I want
to encourage us all to continue to follow the guidelines and protocols we have been so diligently implementing per school and district guidelines. It is following these guidelines that is allowing us to continue to be open.
As you are dropping off your children in the mornings, please remember that we do not have supervision until exactly 7:45. Students should be with their parents or in vehicles until the bell rings at 7:45. This gives staff time to prepare for the day and then be at their designated spots ready to welcome students and take temperatures upon entry, and in the colder months of the year, we do not want to have students standing outside the doors unsupervised. We also ask that adults remain in their cars or on the outside perimeter of the school grounds during school hours. If you need to come into the school office for a specific reason, we ask that you still wear a mask.
We have noticed that many students are having a difficult time adjusting to wearing a mask after two weeks away from school. We understand that there is a relearning that takes place when a practice has been placed to the side for a couple weeks, but please have a conversation with your children about the importance of wearing a mask while at school. Thank you for your partnership with this.
I continue to look forward to the day when so many of these protocols can be lifted, and I am grateful for your support as we continue to live in this season. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Evan Netzer

The Safe Touch Program
Dear Parents,
The SafeTouch program is an interactive program that has been presented to children in Weld County since 1987. The mission of the SafeTouch program is to empower children through body safety awareness. We believe that safety education begins in early childhood. The SafeTouch program is an effective way to teach children in a developmentally appropriate way about:
-
How to differentiate between safe and unsafe touches
-
How to distinguish between “safe” and “unsafe” secrets
-
What constitutes as abuse.
What resistance skills are necessary to prevent or report an abusive situation
The trained program educator will teach your child the three "R's" of staying safe: Recognizing, Resisting, and Reporting on abusive situations. During this presentation, your child will be actively involved in group activities, discussion, role play, games, and in the 4th and 5th grade classrooms a video. We will be watching Breaking the Silence staring Jane Seymore, click on the link below if you would like to watch it. This program will be presented Jan 12th through Jan 14th depending on the grade level.
If you have any questions please feel free to contact the school.
