Accessing the School
In order to ensure everyone's safety at Prospect Elementary, we adhere to district guidelines regarding entrance into our school.
- ALL visitors will enter through the main doors at the front of the school.
- Visitors will press the 'Press to Call' button on the Access Control kiosk to contact office staff (see pic).
- Visitors will be asked to state their name, the nature of their visit and show photo ID before being given entrance into the school.
For our families that are here often, this can seem unnecessary given that the front office staff knows you so well. Please keep in mind that we sometimes have others providing coverage to the front office. If we don't consistently follow the above protocols, it may become frustrating if you have to return to your car or home to retrieve your ID.
Thank you for helping us keep Prospect safe and secure!

End of Day Pick Up
PARENT PICK-UP LOOP
In an effort to streamline and reduce congestion in the parent pick-up/drop-off loop, we are sending these reminders of the procedures at Prospect Elementary. Please use the parent pick-up loop or park along the side streets and walk over to pick your child up. The back southeast parking lot is NOT for student pickup and drop off. There is not supervision in this area.
If you plan to pick up your child in the parent pick-up loop, please use our drop-off/pick-up lanes.
We ask drivers to remember ...
- Please put your phones away when driving.
- Always be aware and drive slowly.
- Pull forward to fill any open spaces in the drop-off/pick-up loops. This reduces congestion on Redhorse.
- Please be courteous of those in line and remain in your spot until the cars pull forward. Do not 'cut' the line and attempt to squeeze in a space between cars.
- Only unload/load when you are stopped along the curb. Students must exit the vehicle on the curbside of the sidewalk. Not into the lane of traffic.
- Stay in your vehicle. If you need to assist your child with their seatbelt, do so quickly and return to your car. This is not a time to conference with teachers.
- Be aware of the crosswalks and crossing guards. Do not block these areas.
If you would like to accompany your child to your vehicle, we ask that you park in a marked space and walk with them across any traffic patterns. Students are not allowed to cross the bus loop or pickup loop on their own.
Thank you for helping us keep all of our students safe!
Subway Day
K: 11:55
1st: 12:00
2nd: 12:10
3rd: 12:15
4th: 12:30
5th: 12:35
Please enter through the front office. You will not need to check in because this is a school event. Please wait in the foyer area for your student's class to come for lunch. When they come you may take your student and exit the doors at the end of the foyer. Find a spot on our grassy area and enjoy your lunch. Seating is not provided. Please bring a chair or blanket to enjoy lunch picnic style. All families need to remain on the grass area to eat. Please do not go to the field area as this is used for recess time.
If you have not arrived when your child comes to lunch, they will be seated in the cafeteria. Students will NOT be allowed to go outside to eat without a parent/guardian. If you arrive late, come to the cafeteria doors and a staff member will direct you to your student. Please do not contact them on their personal device. This causes confusion and makes it difficult for staff and students. For those families who have students in multiple grades, you will need to come to the foyer for each student at their scheduled lunch times.
Please help your student return to class ON TIME. They return from recess at the following times:
K: 12:35
1st: 12:40
2nd: 12:50
3rd: 12:55
4th: 1:10
5th: 1:15
Thank you for your help in keeping this event safe and successful!
Fun Run
Thank You!
PowerSchool-IMPORTANT!!!!!!
West Ada values and recognizes our role in the healthy development of our children. It is important that we share our attitudes and goals and that our families have access to resources to promote good development. This year we updated the website, health history information being collected and the acknowledgement and consent for services offered at West Ada. We ask you to update or complete, if not already completed, these forms before the upcoming school year and anytime your child has a change in medical or mental condition, to include changes in medications. Ensuring this information is up to date will help us better serve your child(ren). Thank you.
In response to questions about medical and mental services being provided at school, West Ada has taken the following actions to ensure that you are informed and aware of your child's health while at school. Please view the Health Services and School Counseling Services on the West Ada Website for additional information and resources available to parents. Please note that we will continue to notify you of changes to your child's medical or mental condition.
- In Power School, the Acknowledgement and Consent for Services has been updated. The consents MUST be electronically signed (verbal consent on a case-by-case basis will not be honored). Please complete this before the onset of the school year.
- We are doing our best to limit the disruptions to the educational environment and classroom instruction and therefore we are finding ways to provide community health services, such as central district health providing vaccines or dental services, outside of the school day during after school events and summer feeding programs. Please watch social media and the community newsletter for location and time of events. And know, these events are open to all our families in the West Ada school District.
- Please keep parent/guardian contact information up to date so we may reach you in the event of an emergency.
