Today we wrapped up another wonderful year of learning, fun and friendships. I want to thank all of our staff, parents, and students for making each day an adventure and for reminding me how fortunate I am to be the principal of Wilmot School.

Thank you to Mrs. Mages, who is retiring after 18 years of service to the Wilmot community as our administrative assistant. We wish you all the best. You will be missed.

Over the past month, our students have been learning about countries from across the globe in preparation for an Olympic-themed field day and a special parade and assembly that took place this week. This Olympic-themed unit brought our entire school together in learning about the Olympics. We learned about the history, customs, and places of interest of 21 different countries, building knowledge and cultural awareness of people from other parts of the world. Over the past month...

• Each class was assigned a specific country to research
• Each class prepared a 1-2minute video presentation to teach others about their country
• Each morning for 21 days our mascot Cubby ran the "Olympic" torch around the globe and a daily video was shared with fun facts about a different country presented by one class
• Each class made a large flag representing their country and each student created a small flag for our Olympic parade of countries
• On Wednesday we paraded through the school and had a special assembly
• We enjoyed the Wheel of Wisdom assembly which was a game show activity that included many questions based on the Olympics and our students' research
• On Thursday we held our own Wilmot Olympics (field day) and celebrated our countries and athletes

The annual PTO End of Year Bash is almost here. Come out and celebrate the end of an amazing year with friends and family.

If you have a current K-4th grade student who is not returning to Wilmot next year, please complete the form linked below as soon as possible. This information not only supports us with making class placements but knowing your child is moving allows us to prepare for your child's transition. Prior to your child's last day at Wilmot, we will prepare all records for transfer. As a reminder, our school office will not be open during the summer months. Please complete this form even if your child is transferring to another DPS109 school.

The annual PTO school supply kit sale has started. Ordering school supplies from the PTO is optional. If you would like to order school supply kits, click the link below. The digital tools in the table below can be accessed on a personal (home) device.

• Computer: Go to clever.com click "Login as student" on the top right, search for your school, and "Login with Google" using the student’s school issued dps109 email address and animal password OR by using a Clever badge if you have one.

• iPad: Install the Clever app as well if you would like.

In addition to those listed in the table, any digital tool used throughout the year that requires a Google sign-on with a dps109 email or a unique username/password created by the teacher, may be used as well! (i.e. WeVideo, CoSpaces Edu, Worldbookonline, etc.)

Please note: some features of the individual digital tools may become disabled throughout the summer as the companies make updates to their product in preparation for the 2024-2025 school year.

Reminders for student emails, passwords, and graduation years:

Students' emails are their first name + last name + graduation year @ dps109(dot)org

Example: mariagalanis2024 @ dps109(dot)org

Exceptions are longer name combinations. For those, it would be first initial + last name + graduation year @ dps109(dot)org - Example: mgalanis2024 @ dps109(dot)org

All passwords are an animal + 4 digits (students should know their animal password)
