Important to Know:
Back-to-School Night
Thank you to the parents who attended Back-to-School Night last evening. We are grateful for your support.
Picture Day - Friday 9/20/24
We can't wait to see students in their picture day outfits next Friday! After pictures are taken and available, we will send home information about how to purchase them. If it's raining, picture day will be the following week, on 9/27.
Elementary Parent-Teacher Conferences
The district is going to pilot a new schedule for elementary school conferences for the 2024 school year. In coordination with community input as well as planning with the principals and staff, we have generated a schedule that we believe will be more efficient and effective.
Conferences will be held on Wednesday 11/13 from 3:00-4:30, and then on Thursday 11/14 from 1:30-7:30. Following conferences we send a survey to gather feedback from families on their thoughts on the new schedule, which should help us determine if to move forward with the new times or continue to work towards finding a more effective plan.

Attendance Matters!
As a school, this year we are looking for students to attend school regularly. Chronic absenteeism is when a student has been absent 10% or more of the school year (18 days or more). We look forward to partnering with you to reduce the school's rate of chronic absenteeism. Please see the information below and contact us if you need assistance with attendance or if you have any questions.

From Mrs. LaTempa:
Thank you parents for being diligent in emailing or calling your child in absent when the need arises. It is important to let us know details of the absence such as a fever, vomiting, a cough that is viral, strep throat. Please do not just say "sick" or "not feeling well." We ask for specific details so that we can identify trends in a class or in the building. The purpose for tracking is to be proactive in alerting parents of symptoms to watch for and to provide education as well as taking extra steps at school to prevent further contagions.
If you do take your child to a healthcare provider, please provide a medical absence excuse note along with the diagnosis. It will be kept in your child's health file at school.
Please look for updates on how to keep healthy throughout the school year. We are off to a good start! Please remind children to wash hands, keep fingers from the T Zone (eyes, nose, mouth) and block coughs with an elbow.
