Mr. Kirschenbaum, ELA
Students should plan to finish their independent book by the time that we return from Winter Break. Students will have the opportunity to share Book Talks on Thursday and Friday (Jan. 2 & 3). We will spend Thursday & Friday selecting our Book Club books and planning for our next project. If you are interested in adding to our classroom collection, please visit our Amazon Wish List.
Mx. Gomez, Math
Math 7 will hit the ground running when we return from Winter Break. We have an RCT scheduled for January 6th and 7th. We'll be completing the unit on Proportional Relationships and Percentages, with a review session on January 3rd. Students who left early (or have been absent) for the break have Zearn Lessons to catch up on to stay on track. Those returning on the 6th can access the review via Canvas, as requested.
Math 6 will continue working on Adding, Subtracting, Multiplying, and Dividing Decimals when we return. It's crucial for students to finish their Pear Activities to practice these essential decimal operations. These skills are foundational in 6th grade math, and students will have their RCT on Decimal Operations on January 9th and 10th.
Have a wonderful Winter Break Y’all!
Ms. Wesselhoft, Geography
After break, we will transition into Unit 4: Southeast Asia. Students will be completing assignments investigating Hinduism and Buddhism and India.
The following week, we start identifying countries, physical features, physical feature vocabulary, and cultural characteristics of the region.
Ms. Sagan, Science
Hello scientists! It’s been a wonderful 2024 with all of you, and I can’t wait to see you in 2025!
Over the break, students can use the Blookets posted under Roots Q2 Module to study for their Roots Summative, which will either be on Tuesday, January 7th or Wednesday, January 8th. Any other work (such as adding images to their Planet Presentations) is completely optional.
Thank you to everyone who has donated to my amazon wishlist so far! My amazon wishlist link is here https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/dl/invite/gkYQSIk?ref_=wl_share if you would like to contribute to our classroom. Thank you for your generosity!!
