The Lion's Roar

A Note From Mrs. Bowden...
I wanted to extend my gratefulness for the way traffic is going. It has been getting faster and faster and we finished today at 4:45.
It has been great seeing all the learning taking place in the classroom. We are truly in full swing of the 24-25 school year.
Curriculum Night is fast approaching, our first Volleyball game of the year is this week. September is going to be a busy month.
It is a great day to be a LION.

Traffic Update
I want to THANK YOU, traffic has been the best start EVER! I am sharing areas that can be improved. When you think of traffic, please think of the safety for ALL involved. I cannot stress this enough, the traffic flow is for student safety.
- For Drop-Off & Pick-Up please slow down. Speed limit will be enforced. Signs will be posted.
- Please adhere to the sign which notes where the second line begins. Should there be an emergency, we have to get vehicles in and out.
- There is no longer pick-up or drop-off in the church parking lot and along the car pool line. You must meet your student at the soccer fields. Please park and do not block the flow of traffic.
- There is no student drop-off or pick-up in the front parking lot.
- The school zone is active all along Teel. I have requested flashing school zone lights and for more police presence. Do not drop your student off on Teel.
- Kindness is appreciated as we serve your students by getting them safely into the building.
Please slow down. Please follow the traffic flow, it works, it will get faster and it is for the safety of all involved.

9 Week Habits to Learn About & Practice
Habit #1 Means:
- I am in charge of the choices I make.
- I can react to things happening around me, like a soda bottle fizzing over, or I can Be Proactive and choose my mood and attitude.
- I can do the things I need to do without being asked by my teacher or parent.
This month, sit down with your family and brainstorm how you can apply Habit 1 in your family!
Habit #5 Means:
- I listen to others without interrupting.
- I raise my hand when I want to speak and I wait to be called on.
- I don't blurt out.
- I try to understand other people's views and feelings, even if they are different from my own.
This month, try to go one hour without talking even once. Instead, just watch the people around you and listen to what they are saying.
