Holy Ghost Catholic School News
November 3, 2023
November is the month of gratitude. I am thankful for the community we have built at Holy Ghost Catholic School and the memories being made here. I pray for all of our families to have a blessed Thanksgiving, surrounded by family, friends, and love.
Blessings,
Mrs. Dominguez-Chávez
Middle School Life Science has been working on various body systems. Starting at the cellular level, students learned about the building blocks of life. Curriculum then progressed into multi-level organization- cells make up tissues, tissues make up organs, and organs make up organ systems. Students simulated the digestive system with crackers and soda, and then used the mixture to simulate the excretory system. Wall sits allowed students to engage in conversation about the muscular system. Students then applied their knowledge of body systems to create life-sized skeletons. Stay tuned for pictures of students dissecting infant pigs, sheep brains, and pig hearts to gain a deeper understanding of how body systems work.
