As a reminder, please sign up for parent teacher conferences. Our staff looks forward to sharing student progress with you in October! Please be sure to reference the PTO section of this newsletter. There are upcoming events and deadlines that you won't want to miss.
Parent Teacher Conferences
Fall parent teacher conferences will take place on Wednesday, October 16th from 3:30-7:30 PM and Thursday, October 17th from 1:00-7:00 PM (Thursday, 10/17 and Friday, 10/18 are non-attendance days for students). We will utilize the online booking tool, Meet the Teacher, as we have done in the past. Registration will open on Monday, September 30th at 8:00 AM. Registration will close at the end of the day on October 8th. We look forward to meeting with all of our parents over the course of the two days.

Grove “Meet the Teacher” Parent Guide in Spanish
When parents log on to Meet the Teacher, they will be able to sign-up for conferences for multiple children and for any staff member that works with their child. Conferences with specials teachers are not required but are an option we are offering to parents. In addition, all related services staff members will be available to meet with parents. As a result, parents can also schedule conference times with our Social Worker, Speech and Language Pathologist, Reading Resource Teachers, English Learner Teacher, Special Education Resource Teachers, and our Extended Teacher. It is highly recommended that parents meet with any related service staff member who works with their child.
Please be sure to plan accordingly in order to attend conferences during the days that have been designated by the district for teachers to meet with parents. This is valuable time to discuss the individual growth and skills of your child, as well as, work together with the teacher to plan and set goals toward your child’s individual progress.

Electronic Devices
All personal electronic devices such as cell phones or smart watches must remain in students’ lockers or can be given to classroom teachers for safe keeping throughout the school day. This minimizes disruptions and distractions to the instructional day and maintains a productive learning environment for all students. All registered families received a communication from the district office regarding personal electronic devices on August 13th. We would like to communicate the district's existing personal electronic devices expectations to minimize distractions and enhance face-to-face classroom connections: Digital Mobile Devices are not permitted in learning environments. Devices must remain powered down and out of sight during class time.
Starting in September and connected to Safety Week, we review the iPad expectations with students in LMC and in their classrooms. Students are taught that the devices issued by Barrington 220 are intended for use by the student for school-related/educational purposes and the use of the device must comply with school rules and district policies and procedures. As part of these conversations, we remind students that personal AppleID's and passcodes are not permitted on district iPads. We appreciate your support in reviewing this with your child at home.
