Principal's Message

Dear Families,

This week our fifth graders will be taking an assessment similar to the format of their End of Grade science test. They have been learning how Earth systems impact patterns of weather and climate. This assessment will be given on Thursday and it will be a great opportunity for our fifth graders to get a glimpse of what their science EOG will look like. As you know, all of our third through fifth grade students take end of grade tests in reading and math. Fifth grade is the first year when students also take a science EOG.

Looking ahead to next week, please remember that November 27 is a teacher workday and November 28 and 29, the school will also be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday.

Thank you to everyone who has contributed to our toy drive for Western North Carolina. The last day to donate is November 22nd. Our donation box is in the lobby near the front office. These donations will be delivered to families affected by the recent flooding due to Hurricane Helene.

Parent and Caregiver Academy Session on MATH!

We know many parents ask about helping their children with math HW. In this session families will learn more about the current math curriculums used in K-8 and explore strategies that can be used to support students' math learning at home.
