Ambler Elementary Summer Update #1

Dr. Lewis' first grandchild, Cooper Brooks Lewis, was born on Tuesday, June 4th. He weighed 6 pounds and 12 ounces and was 19 inches long! Congrats, Dr. Lewis!

Our theme for the 2024-2025 school year is "Learning is our Superpower!" We can't wait to see all of our superheroes at Meet the Teacher!

My name is Sarah Traynum. I have been in education for the last 24 years and am so excited to be joining the Ambler Family. I love reading, science, and art! I also love ALL (well, almost all. LOL) music genres. Don't be surprised when you hear random music coming from our classroom.

I have one son, Tanner, who just got engaged to an amazing young lady, Brianna. We are having lots of fun making wedding plans for next fall. As a family, we love to go fishing, go to thrift stores and yard sales, and cookout. I enjoy painting, crafting, and cuddling with my two cats, Finn and Dolly.

Although I have lived in South Carolina since 2000, I grew up in the mountains of Kentucky and I love my Kentucky Wildcats!! I was so excited to see that Ambler's mascot is also a Wildcat!!

I cannot wait to get to know everyone and feel so blessed to be given this opportunity to serve the families of Ambler Elementary School.

I’m Klara Jaynes, and I am so thrilled to be teaching fourth grade at Ambler this coming school year! This will be my first full year teaching, as I just graduated from Southern Wesleyan University with a bachelor’s in Elementary Education in May. Some students may know me as Miss George, as I student taught in both fourth and fifth grade there. I just got married on June 1st and am spending my break with my wonderful husband and our two cats, Nyla and Apple.

Meet the Teacher will be on Tuesday, July 30th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. In July, you will receive an email that asks you to update your student's registration. Please complete this before coming to Meet the Teacher to receive your child's homeroom assignment.

We will be pre-ordering Ambler shirts at Meet the Teacher Night. T-shirts will cost $20 with the exception of Adult XXL, which will cost $22. Please pay in cash (exact change) or with a check made payable to Ambler Elementary. The last day to order shirts will be on Wednesday, August 14th.

The first day of school for students is on Thursday, August 1st, 2024. Our doors will open at 7:30 a.m. The instructional day will begin at 8:00 a.m. and will end around 2:15 p.m.

This website is where all of the SDPC monthly menus are posted. We will send out August's menu separately when it is ready. All breakfast and lunch will be free again for all students this school year!
