Upgrade For Next Year - New Learning Management System: CANVAS
We get to have an upgrade next year from Summit as our learning management system to Canvas as our new learning management system. We are excited for many reasons and in preparation for next year:
It's a big deal that we will continue to get a learning platform that costs other schools/districts millions of dollars - for free (thanks to our continued partnership with Gradient Learning).
Canvas is the same platform most of the nation uses at the college level (for example, all of the Idaho schools are on Canvas).
Of the high schools that have a learning platform the vast majority of them use Canvas.
For any who would like to explore Canvas further here is their website with demos and/or a free trial subscription: https://www.instructure.com/canvas
When you return in August we will be working together to support everyone as we get up to speed with Canvas as our new platform.

I am married, have 2 Golden Retriever pups, and have a baby girl due in July! In my free time I love to golf, hang out with friends, and watch movies. I am extremely passionate about educating the next generation and I do that through teaching math and spending a good amount of my free time coaching basketball. I am excited to bring that passion to Columbia High School. I hope to add to the already strong educational culture that Columbia has built and help the students at Columbia High School become individuals who are ready to make a positive impact after high school. I am very excited to help build a winning culture in the Columbia Boy's Basketball program from the top down as the Head Frosh coach and teach the young men in the program how to positively affect their environments in all areas of life! #NSD131
Hi, my name is Quinn Fillmore and I am excited to be joining the Columbia High counseling team! I am a recent graduate from Boise State University, earning my masters degree in Social Work and becoming a licensed master social worker (LMSW). Though I consider Idaho my home as I have lived here for 12 years now, I was born and raised in eastern Oregon. Aside from education and helping others, I enjoy spending as much time as I can outdoors, whatever the weather. I am looking forward to getting to know you all!
