TN Promise Requirements
- Virtual Mandatory Team Meeting - due May 31
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, your mandatory meeting requirement will be completed virtually. TN Promise students must watch the 40-minute webinar by May 31, 2021 in order to maintain scholarship eligibility. tnAchieves will send targeted text and email reminders to students and parents until May 31, or until the organization has record that the student has viewed the webinar. Prior to viewing the webinar students must activate their tnAchieves CONNECT account. CONNECT is our new virtual mentoring and student success platform. To view the Mandatory Meeting Webinar, students must log into tnAchieves CONNECT, click My Pathways, watch the webinar in its entirety and click submit. Click here to view a quick tutorial on locating the webinar on the platform.
- Community Service Requirement - 8 hours by July 1
Community service hours are mandatory to maintain TN Promise eligibility! Due to the COVID-19 crisis, tnAchieves recognizes that completing in-person community service hours may be challenging. As an additional resource, TN Achieves has recorded a virtual opportunity for you to complete community service hours. By watching the webinars below, you will accumulate community service hours. Each video will account for one hour of community service, so feel free to watch multiple episodes. TN Achieves representatives hope that these webinars/interviews will provide you with insight to career paths, college success and general life skills. Duplicate viewings of the same webinar will not be counted as an hour of community service. You may only receive credit for viewing each webinar once!
To receive your hour of community service, simply login, view the webinar in its entirety, then click Submit! To view any of the community service webinars, click here!
For more information, see Student Handbook below or visit the tnAchieves website for the Class of 2021.
Scholarships
College - Next Steps
After you make a decision about which school to attend, regularly check your e-mail and student account (with the college) to see about signing up for orientation, securing housing, submitting immunization records, etc.
If you have received special education services (IEP) or have a 504 plan and think you want to request accommodations in college, be sure to contact the disability services coordinator at the school you plan to attend. While your IEP or 504 plan will not follow you to college, it is a good idea to request a copy from your case manager prior to graduation and keep it in a safe place. It may provide supporting information to a college if you request accommodations.
Work Ethic Diploma
Seniors will apply in their TNN classes and will set up accounts at workethicdiploma.com. Students who successfully complete the application process will earn cords to wear during the graduation ceremony. The deadline for meeting requirements and submitting completed applications is April 15, 2021. Please click here to view the Tennessee Work Ethic Diploma standards.
