Principal Weekly Update to Caregivers
Principal Lamour Update
This week school starts for students in Kindergarten in Canton! We are thrilled to welcome our youngest students and families to our school! Please see the following highlights in this week's Luce Notes.
- Parking lot safety is imperative to ensure our students, staff, and families are safe. The speed limit is 5 mph. Please do not leave your car idling when you drop your child off. Staff will be there to support your child in the morning. Please be considerate of others when driving in the parking lot. Students with Epi Pens will need an Allergy and Anaphylaxis Emergency Plan, and students with inhalers will need an MA Asthma Action Plan dated on or after 7/1/24.
*All medication must be delivered to the health office by a parent or guardian in a pharmacy labeled container, with a medication order signed by their physician and dated on or after 7/1/24. **I can not accept medication without a current physician's order.**
*I can only accept 30 days worth of medication at one time.

I will be available in the Luce Health Office Monday 8/26 from 2-3pm, Tuesday 8/27 12:30-3pm and 5:30pm-6:30pm during the Open House.
Please see the information below provided by the Canton Board of Health:
Mosquito prevention (we just had our first +WNV mosquito, more than likely will not be our last). Guidance is focusing on wearing repellant, removing standing water from property and being mindful of peak mosquito hours (dusk-dawn). Parents can register for mosquito alerts through the town website to stay up to date: https://www.town.canton.ma.us/List.aspx (enter email, scroll down to Alert Center and select Board of Health)
The BOH has flu & covid vaccine available. We will have the health fair on Sat 10/19 from 10-1 in the CHS cafeteria for flu only, if they can’t make it then they can call the nurse office at 781-821-2942 to schedule.
If your student(s) has any medical issues or concerns (especially if it is a new issue or diagnosis since last school year), or if you have any questions or concerns that I can assist you with, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by phone or email. I look forward to working with you and your student(s) for a wonderful school year!
Thank you,
Nurse Bonner
